According to her, the traders, including herself, have built structures in small spaces, congesting the area and making it inaccessible for firefighters, which led to the fire rapidly spreading to several structures and nearby buildings. She added that the firefighters did their best within their capacity.

Some traders were left devastated and stranded at Teacher Mante on the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the early hours of today after a truck transporting their foodstuffs, mainly plantain, from Kumasi to Accra caught fire, destroying almost everything. Firefighters from the Suhum branch of the Ghana National Fire Service arrived at the scene around 4 a.m. and managed to douse the flames before the fire completely consumed the truck and its contents.
