A gift from the Darla Moore Foundation will support future veterinarians from South Carolina’s Pee Dee region. Six students in the inaugural class of the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine will receive full scholarships covering tuition, fees and living expenses.

President William Samoei Ruto, PhD has instructed universities to issue new admission letters that clearly indicate the amount of fees each parent will be required to pay. Parents will not pay the full cost of the university programmes because the Government will provide upto 95 percent support to each student. The New Funding Model for universities has made higher education more accessible and affordable for all students. The government offers scholarships and loans tailored to meet the varying needs of students: - Students from vulnerable families are placed in Band 1 and receive 95% government support. - Students in Band 2 receive 90% support. - Students in Band 3 receive 80% support. - Students in Band 4 receive 70% support. - Students in Band 5 receive 60% support. As promised by the President, No one is left behind!

Around 20 British and Irish public figures, including former English football star and broadcaster Gary Lineker, Irish actress Nicola Coughlan known for Bridgerton and Derry Girls, as well as Paloma Faith, Emma Atkins, and Alfred Enoch, have joined the “Scholarships for Gaza” campaign. Organised by educational charity Phoenix Space, the initiative raises funds through a celebrity auction to support Palestinian students from Gaza who have received offers from UK universities but cannot leave the Strip without fully funded scholarships covering tuition fees and living expenses.

The dean acknowledged they could have been adopted out had the timeline been different. We have offered to trailer them to sanctuary ourselves. Students need hands-on experience. But the most effective and efficient training happens when animals actually benefit from care. There is a rural veterinary shortage. There are communities who need surgical services.
