He was an owned cat at one time and according to Cody his feeder, he was literally tossed out to the street in favor of a younger kitten. Chubo was never neutered or cared for while he was inside and basically after three years of neglect he was tossed to the street.

"So I’m driving down the road this morning and the cars in front of me are driving over a black thing in the road. It’s going between their tires so I’m guessing it’s a box. It’s a kitten just sitting upright shaking like a leaf. And some idiot had spread glue on its paws and stuck it to the road. I thought maybe it walked through glue somewhere but after looking at it, that was totally spread into her paws. She was wet and freezing and literally glued to the road. An 18-month-old tiger (a sub-adult) is currently being reintroduced into the wild for the second time. It was previously brought back in because it was unable to hunt and would have starved to death. The collar allows it to be identified and tracked. A strong bond remains with the volunteer who raised it from a young age, and who hopes that this attempt at reintroduction will succeed.
