Their eyes were hopeful, waiting for someone to bring them food that day. Last night, I received a distress call from concerned residents in the Mowlem area of Embakasi West. They reported that two young children had been sleeping in a makeshift shelter (kibanda) late into the night while their mother spent her time in local pubs consuming alcohol and allegedly abusing other substances, leaving the children neglected. I immediately visited the area and found one of the children fast asleep in the makeshift shelter without even a sweater. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan had stepped in and covered the child with a sweater to protect them from the cold. What was even more heartbreaking was learning that whenever neighbours attempted to help the children, the mother would become hostile towards them. After speaking with a security guard, we were informed that the mother was inside her house. We proceeded there and found her consuming alcohol and chewing miraa. Shockingly, she did not even know where one of her children was at that moment. The neighbours informed us that the mother, who is also a landlady, might be struggling with depression. Although that has not been medically confirmed, she appeared to be in need of professional help and support. I rescued the two children and assured their mother that I would support efforts to help her access rehabilitation services so that she can receive the guidance and treatment she needs. We reported the matter to Mowlem Police Station, where it was referred to the Children's Officer. The children will be placed in a safe environment while the relevant authorities conduct further investigations and take the necessary steps to safeguard their welfare. No child deserves to be neglected or left exposed to danger. I commend the concerned residents who chose to act and report the situation. Together, we can protect vulnerable children while also ensuring that those struggling with addiction or mental health challenges receive the help they need.

Losing family, friends, their home, school, as well as the simple things that make a childhood - their toys, comfort, favorite foods and treats. How can they even smile? Nearly 100% of children in Gaza need mental health support due to their experienced and ongoing trauma. But they are also strong, and loved, and cared for by their parents, extended family, neighbors, and friends. But this war on them, on their lives, on their futures must stop now. Our South team came across this group of children singing a traditional Palestinian kids song, smiling, clapping, trying to pass the time, trying to find any joy between the displacements, bombings, and hunger they feel. Canadian citizen Adi Vital-Kaploun (33) was sheltering in her home in Kibbutz Holit when Hamas terrorists attacked. They murdered her in front of her sons, Negev (4) and Eshel (4.5 months), and booby-trapped her body in case anyone tried to move it. Six terrorists then broke into Avital Aladjem’s house next door, where she was hiding with another neighbor, US citizen Hayim Katzman (32). The terrorists murdered Hayim and took Avital hostage, and used her, Negev, and Eshel as human shields as they walked through the kibbutz, setting houses and cars on fire. The terrorists then forced Avital to walk to Gaza carrying Eshel while one of the terrorists carried Negev, who had been shot in the leg. For some inexplicable reason, after crossing the Gaza border, the terrorists abandoned them, and Avital managed to make her way back to Holit with the children, hiding from terrorists along the way. There, she reunited the children with their father, and they were evacuated to safety. Hamas tried to exploit the Vital-Kaploun children to promote a blatantly false “humanitarian” narrative. They shared a propaganda video of the two traumatized children being “cared for” by Hamas terrorists, after their mother had been murdered in front of them and before they were kidnapped. Hamas also tried to exploit a video of Avital and the children making their way back from Gaza, claiming they freed a mother and her children out of the goodness of their hearts. Since 2014 coup in Kiev , there have been reports of children going missing by the 100s and suspected child sex slavery and organ harvesting . In 2023, Ukrainian military were kidnapping children near the combat zones, civilians in Avdeevka and Bakhmut hide their kids from them: This was confirmed by the head of the Avdeevka Civil-Military Administration, Vitaly Barabash: -" they are really crazy... telling there are no kids in town, they were moved to the relatives. But not one of them gave us any proof of that... The police are going inside the house, mother and father are there, but not the child. They searched the entire building - nothing. So, they are hiding them. Therefore, we hide them or escape" "a house with a family was mysteriously shelled after a visit from the Ukrainian army evacuation team. The woman refused to leave with them and that night the house was hit, a 5 months old baby was killed." A similar story was told by a resident of Bakhmut where Ukrainian military kidnapped children to force the whole family to evacuate to Ukraine. The Ukrainian Armed Forces, together with the organizations "White Angel" and "Phoenix", forcibly took children out of Bakhmut in order to force their parents to evacuate to the territory of Ukraine. ◾This was told by Natalya Tkachenko, a local resident and mother of a 13-year-old girl. Children, according to her, were specially sought out, and in case of refusal to leave, they were taken away by force. - Therefore, we had a period when we simply hid our children. We hid them in cold apartments, hid at other addresses, in other basements, that is, not where they were registered or seen before. - If the car drove into the yard or appeared somewhere, the adults would quickly take the girls, go to other floors they had keys for, close them into cold apartments, and they sat still as a mouse until the cars left.

ORPHANAGES WERE FACTORIES. At the end of the 19th century, orphanages in America and Europe housed millions of children. The official figures are staggering. In New York City alone, over 100,000 children lived in orphanages in 1890. One hundred thousand. In just one city. The official explanation? Poverty. Immigration. Disease. Parents who died in epidemics. But this explanation doesn't add up. New York City had about 1.5 million inhabitants in 1890. That means roughly one in 15 of the city's residents was an orphan in an orphanage. This isn't a poverty problem. It's a population problem. Where did all these children come from? And more importantly—where did they go? The orphanages didn't simply house the children. They were processed there. The children arrived with one name and left with another. Children arrived at these institutions speaking only one language and were forced to speak English. Children arrived with memories of their families, and they were told these memories were lies. The records of these institutions have been almost completely destroyed. Fire. Flood. “Administrative loss.” The same pattern we see everywhere. Yet some records have survived. And what they reveal is harrowing. Children as young as three were “placed” with families across the country. No background checks. No follow-up visits. No documentation of where they ended up. They were loaded onto trains—the orphan trains—and transported to rural towns, where farmers selected them like cattle at an auction. Between 1854 and 1929, an estimated 250,000 children were transported in this way. But one question no one asks: If these children were indeed orphans of immigrants who had died of disease, why did they need new names? Why did they have to forget their past? Why were their records destroyed?🤔 You change a person's name to erase their identity. You destroy records to erase their origins. You scatter them across a continent to ensure they never find each other again.🤔 These weren't rescued orphans. They were children of the PREVIOUS CIVILIZATION assimilated into the new one. On this Memorial Day we remember those who have given their lives in the service of this nation, and we hold in our hearts the families and loved ones they left behind. For those of us who wore the uniform in combat, this is a day where we remember our friends and comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember them as they were: sons and daughters, husbands and wives, mothers and fathers. And we rededicate ourselves to living good lives, not to waste the opportunity to live on they gave us with their sacrifice. The willingness of some young Americans to sign the dotted line and risk their futures for the good of the nation is a resource we must jealously guard. It cannot be abused and squandered by those in power for their own benefit. The best way to honor the dead is to make sure future generations are not sacrificed for no reason. Semper Fidelis.

For those of us who wore the uniform in combat, this is a day where we remember our friends and comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember them as they were: sons and daughters, husbands and wives, mothers and fathers. And we rededicate ourselves to living good lives, not to waste the opportunity to live on they gave us with their sacrifice. The willingness of some young Americans to sign the dotted line and risk their futures for the good of the nation is a resource we must jealously guard. It cannot be abused and squandered by those in power for their own benefit. The best way to honor the dead is to make sure future generations are not sacrificed for no reason. Semper Fidelis.

When we were preparing this year’s Easter greeting, we learned that right nearby, also on the grounds of St. Sophia of Kyiv, children of Ukraine’s defenders from Kyiv and the Kyiv region had gathered at the same time – children whose parents, sadly, were killed in this war. An excursion, an Easter egg-hunting quest, traditional spring and Easter songs, and workshops on making stained glass were organized for them by the Socially Responsible Business Platform “To the Children of Our Defenders,” which brings together entrepreneurs and the state to support children who have lost their parents because of the war. The participants of the platform are always close to the families of defenders – organizing trips, rest, activities, and education, creating important moments of warmth and care. So we joined this moment at St. Sophia and came to wish the children a Happy Easter. The smiles we were greeted with are priceless. We want and must do everything so that the children of those who gave the most precious thing for Ukraine’s security never lose their faith in the world. We invite businesses, entrepreneurs, and all caring people across different regions to join the “To the Children of Our Defenders” Platform, support its initiatives, and launch their own efforts to help the children of defenders. Not only on holidays – but every day, we are grateful to all who are fighting for Ukraine. And all our care is for their loved ones.

Little girls had a test to see if they truly want to adopt a pet or not! They were upset after they left an animal shelter without adopting a puppy. After sitting in their car seats and crossing their arms, they cried while explaining that no other dog would be as perfect as the one they had just met. Like being in a cage: the story of children from the Novopetrivtsi boarding school The first weeks of the full-scale war the children of the Novopetrivtsi boarding school spent in a cold basement. The kids almost did not go outside because of the constant shelling. Once they were almost killed by debris - they managed to run into the storage room in time. The basement was damp and cold. The adults somewhere got small stoves, which they used to warm the #children. Russians occupied the village at the beginning of March. Military invaders quickly found a boarding school and children. They put a guard at the entrance. And they count the children every day. The director of the institution was threatened with a weapon so that she would not give the pupils to their relatives. In July 2022, the occupiers forced 16 children and staff to pack up and leave the boarding school at gunpoint. The children were placed in cars separately with Russian drivers and taken first to Stepanivka in the #Kherson region. Later, they were transported across the #Dnipro to the left bank and then by train to Anapa. There, they stayed for some time in the Pearl of Russia camp. Despite being captured, they managed to keep in touch with their loved ones, who prayed for the children's return to #Ukraine by all means. Children in occupied territories are vulnerable and unprotected from the enemy's cruelty. Orphans are the most vulnerable category because no one can protect them. The Russians try in every way to use them for their criminal purposes and manipulate them. It is easy to kidnap these children, transport them to another territory, make their new documents, give them to a #Russian family for upbringing, force them to study in a Russian school, or become a member of any militarized children's organization. We are happy that we have accomplished another successful mission. “Baby killers” are shouting at us, wherever we are. Have an honest look at these babies…and at these palestinian killers. In which other society the children are forced to protect a terrorist who KNOWS that IDF won’t drop a bomb on him while he is surrounded by kids ?! Would u put your own children in the harms way to protect yourself, as a Man, as a Dad ?! Would u have a moral shock seeing this and thinking how many time you fall for this tragic palestinian propaganda ? Would you call this abomination and total disregard for the children’s lives… “rezistance” ?! Every day, since Oct7th, the children of Gaza were forced to shield terrorists. And every time when these truly innocent kids died, like they do anywhere else in a just war, specially when NOBODY is protecting them, every time they used their death to incriminate Israel. They used dolls, they forced their kids to play dead, they used video or pictures of kids dead from other Wars, years ago.
