A hydraulic rock splitter inserts into a pre-drilled hole and expands with enough force to fracture large rocks from the inside — used in tunneling, demolition, and underground mining where blasting isn't an option. [📹 yugongfupilieji]

For pretty much any job, you'd want to be putting your big tool in a pre-drilled hole.

Roman quarrymen managed similar splits without hydraulics: dry wooden wedges driven into slots, then soaked with water until the swelling wood cracked the stone. At Mons Claudianus in Egypt, an abandoned 200-tonne column still lies in the bedrock, wedge holes visible, cracked before it could be freed. 🏛️

I always wonder what’s inside the rock

This is much better and silent

Breaking rock from the inside out engineering is often smarter than it is louder. ⛏️

Imagine being a big strong rock for like a billion years just chillin and then some asshole with a power tool wants to ruin you.

A hydraulic rock splitter. No saw or water needed

Quando faz vrummm, já é certo!

Công nghệ này thật sự ấn tượng, giải pháp thay thế nổ mìn quá tuyệt vời và an toàn.
