I always suggest people only let their cats out supervised and bring them back in after their outing. I know not everybody can do this logistically

I have never understood the “indoor cat” idea.

We adopted a rescue from a woman whose life had changed professionally. Her tuxedo was an indoor but he lead a lonely condo life being alone for 14 hours a day so she found us. He did the same but was much more cautious about going outside. He'd never seen it before.

What if we have kitty+apple both 😜😻

We give our cat 30 minutes of ‘outside time’ every evening where he just plays in the backyard while we sit and watch him.

If you're going to let your cat outdoors, it has to be supervised and/or on a harness, along with the dangers of to themselves outside, they also contribute to the decline of other species, your cat is not "a prisoner"

My Coco lived in our apartment for 4 years till we moved to my mom’s. She got younger and became a hunter. She made it to almost 18. It was the best gift I could have given her: freedom to run in the grass, to sun on the lawn. She had the sweetest bounce when I called her home.
