A line reading that has always stuck with me is this delivery from Mark Ruffalo in 13 Going On 30. The lack of eye contact somehow makes it more true, more raw. Idk if he was directed to do it or just a natural take, but it’s so beautiful.

I know this may not be a big deal to some but I noticed it immediately. The eye contact. One thing that was instilled in me at a young age was the importance of making eye contact when someone is speaking to you. It’s a simple habit, but it says a lot. It shows respect. It shows that you’re present and paying attention. That’s why it’s something I emphasize at every clinic I run. When I’m teaching, I expect athletes to look me in the eye. Not because I’m trying to be super strict, but because learning how to communicate, listen, and show respect will take them much further than anything I can teach them about fielding a ground ball or swinging a bat. While I don’t know Coach Murphy or Jocelyn Briski, the fact that this is something she naturally does tells me a lot about her character and the program that helps shape her. Softball is about so much more than softball.

While I have premium I definitely want to do a long post breaking down the main scene from this show that I obsess with. There's so much that I feel could be learned from it. Not just for expansion animators either. There's honestly a LOT that can be learned from how this show directed its expansion scenes that can be applied to even safe for work animations. Obviously yes, the expansion alone is really good. What makes it so good though is just the fact that there's things you pick up on that you likely don't even realize until you re-watch. I'm using this scene as an example as it's not AS good I would say, but it still has a lot going for it. One thing I've always loved from it that I want to use in my own animations someday is that the expansion sort of comes in waves as opposed to one consistent growth. In a way, it makes it feel more natural while also selling how tight the top is getting. It could have been accompanied by showing the knot getting tighter or smaller with each growth. It's a small part of the animation but just that one thing already adds another layer to appreciate. It's not like most expansion scenes where there's very little outside of just "growing" on its own. There's a bunch of little things that subtly improve it without being obnoxious. The first expansion scene has WAY more that I want to talk about honestly. Far more than this one has. It will probably be a really long post now that I think about it...

yet again i realize how chan could literally do the most masculine thing ever and never for a second make me feel uncomfortable or uneasy the way local men would. idk if it makes sense but the masculinity that he carries is so healthy that it’s not aggressive but reassuring.

Again, #mubb got more than a few questionable calls, so it is selective on my part to push this one. But it was as horrendous a call as I've seen in a while. There is more contact on 85% of plays. Only foul is the hook by Gilbert.

More footage of the ALIEN ENTITY that has grown from a meteorite that fell on earth at least more than 6 days ago.👀🛸👽 This is honestly some of the most fascinating and creepiest stuff I have seen on UFO UAP ET and NHI Aliens. This guys found the meteorite and noticed it was radioactive, he put a leaf on top of it and it burned or “reacted” to it. Even more intriguing is something stated growing from it extremely fast and it doesn’t seem to need to eat or sleep.
