A man has shared his frustration after a sudden power outage from the Electricity Company of Ghana caused his computer to shut down during a 15GB update, resulting in the update crashing and possible data loss.

Computer update has nothing to do with data loss. There’s not enough generation capacity. Remember a government ministers told us there was over capacity of generation few years ago.

I hate people who behave like this.. Data loss s3 sen on an Apple product? If you are broke don’t use an apple product.

Is it that we don’t know what’s happening or we just want to rant?…a whole substation is on fire and they’re trying to resolve the issue, we’re here complaining about power outages 🤦🏽‍♂️

Ahh so because of his 15GB update ECG shouldn’t fix a problem to stabilize power ? Even companies that are losing revenue are quite.

What does he mean the Machine will crash?

Soo dumb,this stage doesn’t use the internet,it will start again from 30 mins when the power comes back

Anytime you are performing an update or upgrade you are advised to backup for file because anything can happen, so no need to blame ECG

Mo gyai gyimie no kakraa. ECG has come to say there are services maintenance and upgrades, transformers are been changed for better service, will take few time for a better electricity supply

If you're in tech then the last thing you do right now is a large update while knowing there's power instability

It’s not gonna crash stop making noise, when the electricity comes back on the upgrade will continue where it stopped as long as you’ve internet

You have iMac still running hdd instead of ssd at this time , where is you ups btw ?

What is the complaint about? You generate your own power to use if you are satisfied with the your current power suppliers. Especially when they inform you of planed maintenance ongoing. Nobody is forcing you to use ECG.

So make we no fix country again because his OS is doing AS or what ?

People are suffering from Dumsor. It’s normal if you go to Europe; the same thing happens.

He was able to know the exact time ECG would take out the light for him to record himself and show us, yea? Sia!! He thinks we fool erh

So what does it have to do with us

Just restart the process when the power comes back
