The Sheriff cited the Victim with a more severe punishment while letting a hit and run driver with no insurance off with a slap on the wrist. The Sheriff called the victim racist for saying "He was black and looked like he was going to run" as justification why he followed the guy. The man struggled to get away and resisted, but with the help of the retired detective, they were able to get him into handcuffs as shoppers cheered them on. District 2 Patrol officers responded quickly and took over the investigation. The suspect has been identified as Raymond Pena, Jr. of Jacksonville (40). He is charged with theft and resisting. He also had two active warrants for theft. “Just because I was elected sheriff doesn’t mean I’m no longer a policeman,” said Sheriff Waters, who recently cited a teenager for littering. The Sheriff and detective were not injured in the scuffle. Sheriff Waters says he will always do what he can to protect the city.

FBI team up with Arkansas state police to bust corrupt Sheriff. This is the video of Sheriff James Stephens of Johnson County Arkansas getting caught as part of an FBI sting. Arkansas state police were directed by the FBI to pull over Stephens as part of a normal traffic stop. During the stop Stephens claimed he was visiting a confidential Informant (CI) as his reason for traveling outside of his county. What Stephens was not aware of was the house he stopped at was being monitored by the FBI. It was due to this visit that the FBI instructed the trooper to stop Stephens. During the stop a search was conducted and pills and large amounts of Marijuana were found. It was at that time the Sheriff was taken into custody. The story didn't stop there as he stayed on as the Sheriff while he fought the charges which is mind blowing to me. In the end he took a plea deal. This man’s wife went into labor while in his truck so he sped up to get to the nearest hospital. Apparently, the Holmes county sheriff caught him and pulled him over as he was entering the hospital parking lot . The man explained the situation about his wife, and the sheriff’s reply was instead of speeding you should’ve pulled over and waited for the EMT to come.. The sheriff proceeded to give him a ticket once he got to the hospital instead of an escort . You can hear his frustration in the video. He’s not getting violent with the sheriff, but he is telling him off and in this case I agree this sheriff was completely out of line. Did the man break the speeding law,? sure he did, but he had a good reason. Obviously, this sheriff is in the minority, I believe most cops would have escorted this gentleman, and his wife to the hospital and got them checked in properly to make sure that she was OK, but like any other profession, there’s good and bad.. and this is an example of an extremely bad decision on the sheriffs part in my opinion.
