Karnatka's Hate Speech Bill: Congress government in Karnataka has tabled a bill that claims to curb hate speech, but it attempts to risk free speech! The wording of the bill is vague and open to interpretation, which means even ordinary statements could be judged as ill will and lead to serious criminal action. The driver of a London bus allegedly locked a Jewish passenger in for nearly an hour, withheld his bank card after it fell into the driver’s cab, and told him he resembled a “Mossad agent” and that he “doesn’t like Jewish people.” This incident will horrify decent people right across the country, who increasingly wonder what has happened to the UK we love. It is outrageous that anyone should be subjected to this kind of degrading treatment, let alone for being or simply just appearing to be Jewish. Allegedly trapping a passenger on a bus and subjecting him to antisemitic abuse is not merely disgraceful conduct; it is potentially criminal. We welcome urgent investigations by both TfL and the police. If the allegations are borne out, the driver would clearly need to be fired and TfL would need to issue an apology and offer compensation to the passenger. The driver has now been suspended pending investigation. Consequences must be delivered for any and all wrongdoing.

In this morning's Radio NZ interview he let slip that there will be more work needed after he has introduced the oppressive and authoritarian "age verification bill". This is most likely a reference to other issues of censorship tied to the Broadcasting Standards Authority and "hate speech" concerns. Luxon is clearly ready to join in the ideological war against free speech being waged by his lefty friends Kier Starmer (UK) and Anthony Albanese (Australia). The PM had said previously that the age verification legislation would be in place before Christmas this year. Now he's saying it will be in place before the election. Those who value free speech on the internet will therefore be able to make this a prime election issue. Tell your local MPs how you feel. Make Mr Luxon and his band of National party imposters know that throwing in with a bunch of liberal women (some of whom will profit from the legislation) to attack internet free speech is not necessarily the good idea he thinks it is.

They know how hate that is allowed to brew can brew so far that it leads to the killing of over 6 million human beings. I saw this video, and I felt for this woman. To go through a case and court trauma for 13 years, not being able to work or travel, and be declared not guilty after that is ruinous. As a lawyer, I think many people are being ruined by the justice system, starting with a poor police investigation, the decision to be charged, and being convicted or released. We may have an opinion about a particular person or case, but we are not necessarily right. She felt it, and she knows it. Our justice system literally ruined her and many others.

Please take the time to read this-A sitting member of Congress should never have been arrested for asking questions. Where are the people who believe in free speech? This is the second United States setting member of Congress that has been arrested. The United States looks more like a police state and under an authoritarian regime that demands his will all while Republicans in Congress allow it to happen because they decided to take an oath to the agenda and not to the constitution. The only people that are happy with this are people that see things through a single lens of information and only want whatever Trump is doing. It looks very much like they care more about that agenda than the actual United States, values, our citizens or our country and democracy that so many people died to protect. Why are Federal employees asked to take a loyalty pledge and why people not asking these questions?
