The best man is the groom’s brother. In his speech he describes how hard it was for him to do so because even though they lived together, they drifted apart and he didn’t know his brother as well as others. During his whole speech, after almost every sentence he makes, the crowd erupts in laughter, you can tell he was uncomfortable, it made him feel like he was doing something wrong. He was studying computer networks/IT. A boy who loved to joke and make people laugh. He dreamed of studying abroad, of building a future, of one day living in a free Iran. Later this year, he was supposed to reunite with his father in Germany. He was also a national swimming champion — a teenager with his whole life ahead of him. The regime killed him. Ahlam a-Taluli was a journalist and photographer from Jabalya Refugee Camp. She told us about her father that was forced out of his home and then snippers shot and killed him. She also told us about her sister that was shot and killed right Infront of her and about her brother that went out to try and get food due to the horrific hunger and they had lost track of him since.
