A million miles from Earth, LaGrange point 2 enables uninterrupted, consistent viewing of the universe. NASA Webb Telescope’s ability to peer deep into the universe, studying galaxy formation across all stages, and #NASARoman’s ability to capture large swaths of the universe in one image make them the perfect pair...

What makes NASA Webb Telescope and #NASARoman so different is what makes them the perfect team to help us reach a common goal: a better understanding of the universe and everything in it. Webb's focused field of view enables more concentrated observations deep into the universe, while Roman will conduct larger, faster, and shallower surveys of the cosmos. Learn more about their differences: Make sure to stay tuned for the next video about how the telescopes will survey the universe.

I asked Fable 5 to make a universe simulator from Earth to the Milky Way all the way up to the observable universe. It used real NASA + ESA data to build out our solar system with every planet and many moons, nearby star systems, and dozens of real exoplanets. Click any star or planet to fly to it and see its info or zoom onto its surface.

🇺🇸 Falcon Heavy just got one of the most important launch contracts in NASA history. SpaceX will carry the Nancy Grace Roman Telescope into space from Pad 39A in Florida as early as September 2026. Roman is built to map dark energy, hunt exoplanets, and see the universe in infrared at a scale Hubble never could… so it can answer questions about what the universe is actually made of. And the world's most powerful operational rocket is the one taking it there. We're about to see the next chapter of space science begin. Source: SpaceX, Elon Musk, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman

Elon Musk: "The mission of xAI and Grok is to understand the universe. We're driven by curiosity about the nature of the universe. That's also what causes us to be a maximally truth-seeking AI. In order to understand the nature of the universe, you must absolutely rigorously pursue truth, or you will not understand the universe. You will be suffering from some amount of delusion or error. So that is our goal"

A supernova explosion in the galaxy NGC 2442 This distant explosion occurred approximately 60 million years ago, around the time the dinosaurs on Earth were going extinct. The dying star's luminosity was billions of times greater than that of our Sun and comparable to the entire center of the galaxy NGC 2442. Such supernovae are among the brightest and most powerful events in the Universe, leaving behind remnants and influencing the evolution of surrounding matter. This cosmic explosion is a reminder of the scale and dynamics of our universe, and how events millions of light-years away can coincide with important stages in the history of life on Earth.

The Edge of the Observable Universe This breathtaking map by artist Pablo Carlos Budassi turns the observable universe into a single cosmic journey — beginning with Earth at the center and expanding outward toward the oldest light we can observe. Our Cosmic Center: The Solar System is placed at the center as the starting point of the visualization Milky Way: Zoom outward and our galaxy appears among its stars, spiral structure, and neighboring galaxies Cosmic Web: Farther out, galaxies form enormous filaments and structures spanning billions of light-years Observable Universe: The map represents the portion of the cosmos whose light has had enough time to reach us Ancient Light: The outer boundary corresponds to the Cosmic Microwave Background — radiation released about 380,000 years after the Big Bang The “Edge”: It isn’t a physical wall or boundary of the universe, but the limit of what electromagnetic observations can currently reach Looking Back in Time: The farther we observe, the further into the universe’s history we see This isn’t a map showing where the universe physically ends… It’s a visual journey through cosmic history — from our tiny planetary home all the way back to some of the oldest light still traveling through space. At the outermost ring, you aren’t looking into an empty edge… You’re looking at the ancient glow of the early universe.
