To this day, even 37 years later, the game I associate the most with the Psygnosis logo is Shadow of the Beast. The game itself was fascinating - in the sense that graphics and sound were both perfect 10s, while gameplay was a 3 at best. Maybe I am being a bit harsh, but I think we can all agree that there was a massive gap between how it looked/sounded and how it played. And yet its burned into my memory forever and certainly has its place in gaming history. Psygnosis published around 100 games, but that logo will always give me Shadow of the Beast vibes.

A short film about my World Cup in the United States. It was a celebration of football, of a way of playing that I believe in, and of the people who make this game so fascinating. But it was also a journey through a country I discovered in a completely different way: its cities, its people, its contradictions and its incredible energy. And yes, I had a fantastic time. That doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten the uncomfortable questions around how the World Cup is organised, or the criticism surrounding FIFA and its leadership. Both things can be true: you can love football, enjoy the people and the experience, and still question the way the game is run. This is simply my World Cup story. The Dark Church in Göreme Open Air Museum was built during the Dark Ages. Yet it is anything but dark. It is filled with bright beautiful frescoes. You enter through a narrow, winding passage cut straight into rock. No grand doorway. No drama. Then the space opens, quiet and cool, and the walls hit you with color that should not still exist. Blues, reds, golds. Still sharp. Still alive. Almost defiant. Light was kept out on purpose. Only a small window in the narthex lets anything in. That restraint preserved the frescoes while others across Cappadocia faded into dust. What you’re seeing survived because it was left alone. Above you, Christ Pantocrator dominates the central dome. Calm. Unflinching. Around Him, the archangels keep watch. Along the walls, the story of Christ unfolds in order: Nativity, Baptism, Transfiguration, Lazarus, Crucifixion, Anastasis. This isn’t decoration. It’s a visual creed for monks who prayed here in near darkness. Carved in the late 11th century, the church was never meant to impress visitors. It was a place of discipline, silence, burial, and belief. The irony is hard to miss. The church that shut out the light is the one that still speaks most clearly. Sometimes preservation is simply knowing when to close the door.
