Simples don't buy an iPhone or Samsung. There are plenty of phones out there that still have Micro SD card slots. The "cloud ' is just marketing hype. Would you give a stranger all your data ? It is like having a lead from your desktop or phone connected to your neighbour!

That's why you should connect the phone to your laptop and download what you want to keep. Then you can free up storage and make as many copies of the saved data as you want.

I still own it. 7y old S20 5G 12GB RAM and 1,12 TB of storage. 2nd battery. If neccessary USB cable and PC with additional 3 TB. It's not cloud. It's just someone's else PC. It's an IQ test.

This is not true. The SD cards are used as a backup not the main memory. Backups don't need speed. They need reliability. There are no two reasons. There is only one.
