Looks like the Expanse.

There's a bug with "symmetric forces" where unchecking the box does nothing until you randomise again. Unchecking and restart still leaves symmetric forces on.

That's not a bug. "Symmetric forces" means from now on the simulator will symmetrize all forces. Enabling it symmetrizes the current ruleset; unchecking it does nothing, as there's no generic way to "unsymmetrize" the forces. I agree that it might be a bit confusing.
