You don't need a continuous flow of fresh water to cool the data centers. Cooling systems that use a fixed amount of water with heat exchangers or radiators would work just as well without the impact on the water systems and aquifers.

AI isn’t going away. And if America wants to lead the AI revolution, we’re going to need data centers. But I think we’re approaching the public backlash all wrong. Instead of asking communities to simply ACCEPT the enormous infrastructure required for AI, why not give the people who host it an actual financial stake in it? Create an AI Community Dividend. Require large data centers to contribute, for example, $100,000 per MW of operating capacity every year to the community hosting them, with the rate increasing for the largest facilities. The math gets interesting quickly: • 100 MW data center = $10 million/year • 500 MW = $50 million/year • 1 GW = $100 million/year Imagine a community of 25,000 households. If those dollars were distributed entirely as household dividends, that’s roughly: $400/year per household at 100 MW $2,000/year at 500 MW $4,000/year at 1 GW Or divide the money between direct household payments, electricity-bill credits, property-tax relief, schools, roads, grid improvements and other community needs. And make it permanent. As long as the data center operates, the community benefits. Companies get predictable rules. America gets the infrastructure needed to compete in AI. Communities share in the prosperity they’re helping create. We don’t need to convince every American to understand AI before we build its infrastructure. We DO need to make sure ordinary Americans aren’t asked to shoulder the costs while all of the economic upside flows somewhere else. AI is going to create enormous wealth. Let the rising tide lift all the boats.

Without the data centers, how are we going to have enough computers to run all the flock cameras that track your every move? Where are we going to put the computers that handle the central bank digital currency that tracks all your purchases?

Drummond didn't win. But this bullying by big corporations is happening all over Oklahoma. This lady is from Inola👆 where a huge aluminum smelter is being built within blocks of homes & schools. #Piedmont, Oklahoma and #Inola, Oklahoma (& any other affected areas) need to unite! Watch out guys! You may be turning Oklahoma blue if you don't start caring about the people!!!

6 Data Centers?!! What in the world? These poor people. What a nightmare for families who built in wide open spaces, only to have their environment swallowed up by an industrial complex. Tragedy. There goes the neighborhood. @realDonaldTrump @JDVance @howardlutnick @StephenM @SusieWiles47

The real product is infrastructure: cameras that never blink, money that can be tracked or frozen, and movement that can be mapped in real time. Same architecture Communist China already uses to score, punish, and herd a population.

Data centers can be built with recirculation water systems and their own power sources. You retards are falling for Chinese propaganda. Who ever controls AI will control the world retards

This is the deliberate and calculated "de-ruralization" of America. Get all of the people off of land they can sustain themselves on.

Why aren’t we building these data centers near current sources of noise pollution like airports, interstates and sports stadiums?

The water is closed loop. It's not that much and the whole water argument is just a straw man argument. You are better than this. Argue against the hum sound or electric costs. Water is not the the issue

@POTUS @JDVance @VP @SusieWiles47 👆👇 Please, fix this! 😡 This 💩 is getting out of hand! Our energy and water should NOT be going to THOUSANDS of data centers! Quality of life, and basic necessities, are being stolen, while our electricity bills are going through the roof! We most certainly did NOT vote for this crap!

Pay them to move. Build the damn data center. If you disagree then stop using your phone, computer, stop watching TV and stop using the internet. People need to wake up. China is telling you to hate data centers.

They farm using well water? Do they know about pressurized tanks? Water towers? And that's not a lot of water. About the amount a town of 500-1000 people use per year A lot, but not insane

Local government and big corporations don’t care about the families they destroy with these data centers. All they care about is the money they are going to make off the project. That is why they don’t listen to the will of the people they just accept the bribes and sweetheart deals and rubber stamp it.

I live in OK and can see the concern but it’s not fair to call this a town when it’s one family who have multiple members and homes living on a compound. That is NOT a town. Data Centers are a necessary fact of life if America wants to stay a superpower.

Once done it will employ about 25 people and drive up prices on water and electricity. The people in the community will pay for the costs, while the corporations sell them back human knowledge.

The people who build these data centers should not be allowed to shift their costs of doing business to others. That means proper engineering, top to bottom. They must not be allowed to commit noise, light, or chemical pollution. This is perfectly doable, and if their plan doesn't include proper engineering, they aren't going to be successful, anyway.

People want Data Centers to be built in remote areas but these folks find one is going up near their compound and they want it stopped. If America is going to have a share of the Data Mining industry, this is going to keep happening. Maybe the DC should offer to buy at a good price?

This is very alarming Housing developers are realizing that selling parcels to data center developers is far more profitable than building homes “AI data centers aren't just using electricity and water. They're using land previously planned for homes” - 55 homes were purchased for nearly $1 million per house and knocked down to build data centers outside of Chicago - Amazon paid $700 million for land so they could build a data center instead of homes - Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet are spending more money on data centers than the US spent on railroads in the the interstate highway system in the 1950s, and more than the US spent on the Apollo space program States are choosing data centers over homes. There are real examples of this Northern Virginia is the center of this phenomenon known as Data Center Alley, even though the region has a shortage of more than 75,000 homes I found real devastating examples of this happening: Prince William County / Bristow, Virginia (Northern Virginia “Data Center Alley”) The homebuilder Steve Alloy’s company was preparing to develop 516 new homes when surrounding land was rapidly bought up by Microsoft, Google, and other data center operators instead. Nearby, the Village Place housing project entitled for 250 additional units had its land sold to a data center developer for $31 million Stanley Martin Homes Land Flip to Amazon, Prince William County, Virginia Residential homebuilder Stanley Martin Homes assembled 270 acres for about $51 million. They flipped most of it to Amazon for $700 million In Suburban Chicago Illinois. Stream Data Centers bought a 55 home subdivision for nearly $1 million per home, demolished the houses, and built a 2.1 million sq ft data center campus This must be stopped. We have starter home affordable crisis already
