Deputy Prime Minister /Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar Ishaq Dar chaired a Committee meeting to review the existing Guidelines for the Establishment of Universities and Higher Education Institutions in Pakistan. The committee reviewed the draft 2026 HEC Regulatory Framework for the Establishment and Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Pakistan, in the light of direction given by the committee in the last meeting .The revlevant stakeholders provided a detailed briefing to the Committee about the work they have carried out in this regard. The committee appreciated the efforts of the Higher Education. DPM/ FM directed HEC to incorporate further recommendations provided by this committee in today’s meeting and submit the revised draft to the Ministry of Federal Education for onward submission to the Federal Cabinet for approval. DPM/ FM while highlighting government’s commitment towards quality education stated that strengthening Pakistan’s higher education system and impartting knowledge through highest standards of quality, transparency, and excellence is the hallmark of this government. The Meeting was attended by Ministers of Law , IPC and Education and Professional Training, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Federal Secretaries, HEC team , Rector NUST senior government officials and relevant stakeholders.

In WB, 2.56 crore people living in villages will get 125 days of work; the daily wage will be Rs 300 for unskilled labour, Rs 450 for semi-skilled, and Rs 600 for skilled work... Apart from this, we have introduced many schemes in the budget, and we have also been implementing numerous Central govt schemes... Tomorrow we are holding a meeting with all the ministers and HoDs in West Bengal. We will dedicate the entire day to discussing the implementation of our budget and all the schemes of the Central govt. We will formulate a comprehensive roadmap tomorrow regarding the available opportunities and how to ensure that the majority of the people in Bengal receive their benefits..." He adds, "From 1st August, the census is starting in Bengal and across the entire country. Our preparations are in full swing, and you will receive all the details once the census report is released. This time, it is a digital census. This time, there is an option for self-declaration. This time, it includes a caste-based census; everything will become clear, and the absolute truth will be revealed."

In Hooghly district, 68 young students aged 5 to 10 are being forced to sit in classrooms holding umbrellas — because rainwater leaks through the broken roof of their school. Where are the thousands of crores claimed to be spent on school infrastructure? Where is the much-hyped “Banglar Shiksha”? When the government is busy promoting appeasement and photo-ops, this is what children in Bengal endure — a collapsed system, no dignity, no basic facilities. This is not governance. This is criminal neglect.
