Things are definitely changing 🔥 TRANSCRIPT: The IOM investigation regarding thimerosal-containing vaccines and autism contains several important points. If you read the report, one key finding is that the committee repeatedly noted that large epidemiological studies would not be able to detect a subpopulation that might be more genetically vulnerable, which is one of the hypotheses. The committee also dismissed findings of immune activation and inflammation in the brains of animal models exposed to thimerosal-containing vaccines. This was because they changed the criteria from their 2001 report, which focused on biological plausibility, to biological mechanisms in 2004. At that time, we didn’t fully understand the biological mechanisms. Additionally, the committee stated there was no evidence of neuroinflammation or immune activation in the brains of children with autism. However, one year later, in 2005, a landmark study published by Carlos Pardo documented exactly that. This study, based on autopsy brain tissue from children and adults, found a chronic, ongoing neuroinflammatory process in the brains. Today, those findings have been replicated repeatedly and are considered one of the hallmarks of autism.
