A pretty typical day for me consists of: —Mass —Rosary —Exercise —Reading/research —Writing —Laying the groundwork for future Eternal Christendom projects —Piano practice (old and new repertoire) We pray for our patrons everyday. We are digging into the pieces of the Great Tradition everyday to share treasure with you... all. And I keep music a regular part of my life not only for the joy of it, but because it helps me maintain and grow my creative discipline in one of the great arts. I’ve recently been working on some of Chopin’s Etudes, including the “Ocean” Etude the clip below comes from (for its imitation of rolling waves). I believe music—whether as a musician, or as an attuned listener—plays a vital part in the spiritual, intellectual, and emotional formation of any one striving for virtue. I’ve learned so many disciplines from music, and have many more yet to learn and improve at. If you learn to know and love great music, it will help you grow in many ways. The rise and fall of a culture and society can in many ways be traced by analyzing its music.show more

I’ve been working quietly on something that marks a new chapter for me. Music that carries where I come from, who I have become, and where I’m heading. This album is my story, the lessons I have learned, the friendships I have lost, the wins I have celebrated, the grief of losing my father, the joy of welcoming my daughter into the world, and so much more. This album has been 5 years in the making and it is my GREATEST work yet; my ability to outdo myself continues to amaze me. Collateral (2004) Michael Mann on using music to reveal character. "As research, music enters early for me. If you can find that piece of music which evokes the central emotion of one of your characters, some pivotal crisis where he or she must rouse themselves from despair and manifest something very aggressive within his or her own mind—this becomes the piece of music for that moment. If I want to quantify how a character is feeling and thinking, in a way that is replicable, so I can re-evoke that emotion many, many times, finding the right piece of music is positively essential. Not only as I prepare the scene—but as I shoot the scene, as I direct the actors, and finally, as I edit the scene. One specific example comes to mind in Collateral, when the coyotes cross in front of the cab. For me, that was a watershed in the story's progression. Each of the two principle characters is submerging into his own perspective of what life is: a retrospective moment; a prelude to a violent confrontation. The song "Shadow on the Sun" by Audioslave nailed that moment for me. It became an indelible part of planning, sustaining, and executing that scene."

Crying as I type this but fuck it, vulnerable post incoming 🥹 This year so far has been one of the most difficult in my career and to be honest, I have been struggling with a lot of things in and out of work. So to hear all this from Mousey - to have her spend so much time on-stream listening to "La Gremolin Romántica" and praising me like this, is just the best thing I could possibly ask for right now 😭 ironmouse🇵🇷😈💖 you have no idea how much this stream meant to me. I love making music for you and getting to be a small part of your incredible journey. RIP to Brian Wilson. The Beach Boys legend died at 82. Paul McCartney has said “God Only Knows” is the greatest song ever written and one of the few to bring him to tears. In 2000, McCartney inducted Wilson into the Songwriters Hall of Fame with a heartfelt speech: “He wrote some music that when I played it, it made me cry and I don't quite know why. It wasn't necessarily the words or the music. There was just something so deep in it. There's only certain pieces of music that can do this to me and just reach it right down in me. I think it's a sign of great genius to be able to do that with a bunch of words and a bunch of notes. This man deserves to be in the Hall of Fame that's for sure. “when you charles leclerc go to bed, what do you think of?” 🆑: what i love most doing is racing. but i raced since i'm three and a half years old and i spent many of my nights thinking about racing and racing only but i'm also very creative. i think one of the things with me is that i love being creative but at the same time, i get obsessed with things very quickly and with new passions. one week it will be padel and the other week will be music and piano. every week i find a new thing that i'm super curious about, that i want to learn of and that i keep thinking about. and so sometimes it can be not really related to racing and it can be any new passions like padel or music. and sometimes it's racing. it's not necessarily always the same thing. but when a thought is too strong for you to fall asleep, as i said, i value sleeping. and so i want sleeps and then so i found ways in order to try and switch off the brain as much as possible. 🎥: eight sleep

This was one of the most fun episodes for me with Alex Pall from The Chainsmokers and Mantis. I love music so it was very fun for me to get to hear the stories behind the creation of songs like Something Just Like This, Closer, and Don't Let me Down. We also talked about creation of art in general, the role of albums in music, sources of inspiration, and how AI will impact music. Alex is also a great startup investor, and one of few people operating at a high level in two distinct industries at once.

Last night was one of if not most significant nights of my life. Getting to play the home town stadium was already a fever dream but having one of the many heros that were there last night present an award to me was not on my bingo card. Thank you Cody Canada Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame & Museum for choosing me for the rising star award. It is one of the greatest honors in my life. My heart is full of emotions for what has happened in the last 24 hours. I will always be proud to be an Oklahoman and a red dirt artist. Thank you all for believing in my music and me. I love y’all so much!

Suno's mission is to make it possible for everyone to make music. We imagine a future where music is a bigger, more valuable, and more meaningful part of people's lives than it even is today. Technology enables a future where the whole world can explore, create, and be active participants in an art form most have only ever consumed. From professional musicians seeking inspiration to friends and family writing songs for each other, we are exploring new ways to create, listen to, and experience music. So far, more than 12 million people are engaging with music in new ways that wouldn't be possible without Suno. We see this as early but promising progress. Major record labels see this vision as a threat to their business. Each and every time there's been innovation in music — from the earliest forms of recorded music, to sampling, to drum machines, to remixing, MP3s, and streaming music — the record labels have attempted to limit progress. They have spent decades attempting to control the terms of how we create and enjoy music, and this time is no different. So, it is perhaps not a surprise that on June 24th, members of the Recording Industry Association of America, which represents the major record labels, filed a lawsuit against Suno, alleging that the data used in training our music generation technologies infringed on the copyrights of the major record labels that they represent. This lawsuit is fundamentally flawed on both the facts and the law, and is nothing more than yet another instance where they chose litigation over innovation. For starters, the major record labels clearly hold misconceptions about how our technology works. Suno helps people create music through a similar process to one humans have used forever: by learning styles, patterns, and forms (in essence, the "grammar" or music), and then inventing new music around them. The major record labels are trying to argue that neural networks are mere parrots — copying and repeating — when in reality model training looks a lot more like a kid learning to write new rock songs by listening religiously to rock music. Like that kid, Suno gets better the more our AI learns. We train our models on medium- and high-quality music we can find on the open internet — just as Google's Gemini, Microsoft's Copilot, Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and even Apple's new Apple Intelligence train their models on the open internet. Much of the open internet indeed contains copyrighted materials, and some of it is owned by major record labels. But, just like the kid writing their own rock songs after listening to the genre — or a teacher or a journalist reviewing existing materials to draw new insights — learning is not infringing. It never has been, and it is not now. The timing of this lawsuit was somewhat surprising. When this lawsuit landed, Suno was, in fact, having productive discussions with a number of the RIAA's major record label members to find ways of expanding the pie for music together. We did so not because we had to, but because we believe that the music industry could help us lead this expansion of opportunity for everyone, rather than resisting it. Whether this lawsuit is the result of over-eager lawyers throwing their weight around, or a conscious strategy to gain leverage in our commercial discussions, we believe that this lawsuit is an unnecessary impediment to a larger and more valuable future for music. This is particularly the case because Suno is a new kind of musical instrument, one that enables a new kind of creative process for everyone and opens new business opportunities for the industry. Suno is designed for original music, and we prize originality, both in how we build our product and in how people use it. People who use Suno are using the product to create their own, original music. They are not trying to recreate an existing song that can be heard somewhere else on the internet for free. But, even if they were trying to copy existing music, we have myriad controls in place to encourage originality and prevent duplicative use cases. We do so more aggressively than any other company in the industry, including other startups. Some of our originality-guarding features include checking for and preventing copyrighted content in audio uploads, and disallowing artist-based descriptions in requests to generate music. Why do we work to encourage originality? We do this because it makes for a more fun and engaging experience to create entirely original compositions on Suno. We do it because we think it makes Suno incredibly valuable to be a place where new musical talent can shine. AI allows anyone to realize the songs in their head, regardless of the money, equipment, or connections that they have. The future is an explosion of new artists that are creating music in new ways, building fan bases, finding new reasons to smile, and getting famous. We hope that the major record labels realize that we can build a stronger foundation for the music industry of tomorrow, together. With or without them, we will continue pursuing our mission on behalf of the many millions of music fans already creating with Suno, and all those who will in the coming months.
