I, Rutendo Matinyarare, go back to my primary school: Amanda’s Primary School, and I was shocked by the amazing transformation that school has made under a black headmaster, Mr Thorpe Nyamukuvengu. This man has proved that black people are capable of turning government schools into private school standards. This has to be the best managed government school in the country. I think it’s managed better than even Prince Edward that used to be the benchmark. Amandas alumni let’s contribute to developing our school even more. To other headmasters, you have let us down and it’s time for you to learn from Mr Nyamukuvengu. #TellingTheGoodZimbabweStory

It appears to be a fee-paying faith school seeking state support, yet it has not been fully assessed against the required standards. Any state-funded school must promote Fundamental British Value democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and faith schools are generally expected to admit some non-faith pupils when oversubscribed. The real test will be the next Ofsted report. Expect more schools like this to emerge.
