Remember folks, you can vote your way into "ism's" but you cannot vote back out!
Voting is a blowoff valve. It gives the illusion that the public has any say in what the government does. Voting hasn't mattered for years.

That Princeton study accurately reflects the reality on the ground. It reminds me of this post from @420GHz a year or so ago, which I think sums up the situation perfectly. I'm not at all sure how we get out of this, but I know the two parties are a lost cause. Elites have developed tools for a total financial and social surveillance network, together with state-run drones and robots, to ensure total compliance with the billionaire technocratic NWO, known euphemistically as "public-private partnership".

This is idiotic. Elections have consequences. Trump’s election delivered a massive reduction in taxes, reduction in illegal alien entry and a 6-3 conservative Court. Obama’s election delivered Obamacare, tax increases and trans everything. These are huge differences

Second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence states that it is ''OUR DUTY'' to overthrow this government when its no longer working on behalf of the people. It has been some time since I felt like this was my country and my government! But then again I'm older!
My answer has been a big fat "no" on this for a long time. The whole system is a controlled charade construct to keep people divided and distracted and give the false perception that one's vote actually counts. We have long lost our representative government. We are a conquered and controlled nation. How we fix it is a modern day version of 1776. What 1776 2.0 will be is an open question to be answered by good men/women who choose to address it.

We have two private corporations that call themselves political parties, and at the end of the day they work for the same donors. Washington warned against political parties in his farewell address for this very reason. It's not some big mystery.
There is an actual political solution. Uncap the House and repeal the 17th Amendment. We need to increase representation. It has been broken for almost 100 years by law and over 100 years since the House was increased. The House was capped at 435 members in 1929 but the House Permanent Apportionment Act. I personally advocate for creating maps that are based of of geography and harder to gerrymander. At the Federal level this would mean 1 representative per county. But if the country wanted to stick with population based, I'd be fine with that too. The point is to increase the number of House members so as to make them closer to the people they represent rather than closer to corporations and lobbyists who can buy them.
It is worse than that. The cited study from Princeton was published in 2014: Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups, and Average Citizens …was drawn from national surveys about proposed federal policy changes btw 1981 & 2002. cc @robkhenderson
After 40+ years of voting Republican that was my conclusion, it didn’t matter. I re-registered as an Independent and now absolutely love the chains being lifted and watching both parties implode. What a shame, the Republicans are the wretches we were always warned they were, they were just lucky the Democrats were even worse. That dog won’t hunt anymore. November is going to be a wake-up call that the GOP will, yet again, not heed.

Systems theory dictates that no problem can be solved by the mechanisms that cause it. The system will never provide the tools to the people that it enslaves, which the people could use to free themselves from their own enslavement. The purpose of system is what it does.
