The people who witnessed said that they were a group who was short and demanding with waitress and after homesteading, a table for an extended meal left her no tip. The man is the owner who watched how hard the waitress worked to receive no tip. The group when confronted didn't say there was a problem with the food or service. The owner was 100% justified! They pulled the race card. That restaurant is very highly rated for great food, and service.

There are many ways of looking at this. One is a caring boss looking after his employee. At the end of the day: 1) A customer does not have to tip. 2) A business should have the right to refuse service.

If you’re too fucking cheap to tip, stay home and eat.

If you go out and eat, and you receive service, you need to leave a tip. Servers make three dollars an hour they depend on tips. If you have a shitty server, leave a shitty tip. If you have a good server, leave a good tip. It’s really that simple. If you’re not a tipper and you don’t want a tip don’t go out and eat. Don’t get service from someone else.

Nobody wants them for good reason.

This owner is 100% WRONG. Tipping isn't a mandatory charge! It is meant to reward the server for exceptional service. The fact that the owner refuses to pay realistic wages and expects the customer to cover them is a terrible black hole they have invented!

FWIW- I'm gonna say something. Some will call me a racist, I assure you I'm not. I have many friends who are servers and they tell me that in general, black people don't tip.

Back when I was young I used to deliver pizza. It was ALWAYS black people and that didn't tip. Even the methed up white people in trailer parks tipped.

Blacks never tip & are always problems. Most wait staff (black or white) argue to NOT take black tables. They even track how many black tables each server gets to make sure it’s “fair.” Ask a server you know.

He’s right. If you can’t afford to leave even a modest tip, then get your food to go. Most servers don’t even make minimum wage. And myself being in the bar restaurant business for 30 years it’s almost always the same usual suspects that stiff their servers. And it’s not racist to call them out. They own it.

Yes it is justified. If you go out to eat in the US it is a well known fact that you need to tip and it is part of the price for the meal.

At the end, male voice asks if the management is racist, the female voice says "so black people aren't welcome". Tips are not mandatory, but neither is service.

Restaurant owners need to pay their employees more and quit relying on customers to pay the salaries of said employees. It is not the responsibility of the customers to provide a salary.

Totally his prerogative, his business his rules, people don’t like tipping but that’s the busniess model all restaurants use. If you don’t like it stay home.
