It is part of the logistics chain that feeds Russian artillery and frontline units. Destroy the stockpile, and you force Russia to move more ammunition, replace what was lost and expose more of its logistics to Ukrainian surveillance and strikes. The blast is the spectacle. The logistics disruption is the real result.
