When he was finally brought to safety, he quietly pressed himself against the wall, trembling and too frightened to even look at anyone. Removing the thick, tangled coat was done slowly, gently, and with great care. As several kilograms of matted fur were trimmed away, his body gradually became lighter, and he could move much more comfortably. His emotional healing came little by little as well. Through gentle voices, patient care, and a calm, steady environment, he slowly became less fearful, stopped trembling, and began to look around with quiet curiosity. Before long, one kind person became the first he trusted enough to greet with a gentle wag of his tail. Even today, he is still a little cautious around strangers. I rescued this paralyzed stray dog after he was hit by a car in Thailand. Aramis suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, so serious that at first I wasn't sure whether he would ever make a full recovery. He lay motionless, unable to walk, and his condition was extremely critical. But through perseverance, rehabilitation, and daily exercise, Aramis proved to me that he is a true fighter. Little by little, he regained his strength, learning to stand, move, and eventually run again. Today, Aramis is happily sprinting around the garden like a little deer, living his best life in London with my wonderful friends, Linn and Jake. Because of stories like Aramis's, I have never given up on paralyzed dogs. And he is far from the only one who has learned to walk again. After getting brain damage 2 weeks ago and being told he had to be put to sleep it’s been a steep learning curve for little Stormzy. He keeps falling but he refuses to stay down. It’s become obvious that his recovery will take some time. He needs patience, love and medical care. So we spoke with his owner and he agreed. He is a lovely man who had Stormzy’s 2 other siblings and lives in a very busy area. He was delighted when we said we could give Stormzy a better life. We are also helping him with sterilizing the dogs in his area. He is a very good man. Especially to know what is best for Stormzy. I’m sure our inbox will be full of requests about Stormzy but the truth is that’s a long way off. He needs a lot of patience and care which he will get with us. We found him with a severe neck injury from a piece of string that had been digging into him, but he was so incredibly terrified of humans that he actually escaped down a hole to hide. It took 36 long hours and the help of a kind local boy to finally bring him to safety, but we were never going to leave him behind. Today, that terrible pain has finally been lifted.
