Nereida Benitez was driving to her Temecula home from her overnight shift as an ER nurse at San Diego’s Sharp Memorial Hospital when she stopped to help out a car crash. Chad Tillman, a veteran, also stopped to help with the crash, and as Tillman and Benitez were standing on the driver's side of the crashed car, another vehicle struck the car. Both Tillman and Benitez were pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the initial wreck, 21-year-old Jake Lopez Lawrence, was booked on felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter charges.

Kindly assist: A few days ago, I was involved in a hit-and-run accident caused by the driver of a white Toyota Hilux GD6 Double Cab, registration number AFS 3613, along Alpes Road opposite Pomona Barracks, just before 8am (Harare). The vehicle moved into oncoming traffic and drove directly into my lane. As it approached, the driver attempted to force his way between my vehicle and an oncoming truck while still in my lane. In the process, the Hilux sideswiped my car before the driver sped off without stopping. Fortunately, my vehicle is fitted with a dashcam, and the entire incident was clearly captured on video, including the vehicle and registration plates. My vehicle sustained scratches, and the rear wheel was also hit, resulting in a severe alignment issue.
