Update: Fatah supporters are saying the people executed took food from aid centers that was meant to be free, but Hamas steals and sells to the people at exorbitant prices. They say Hamas claimed they were Fatah spies to justify their brutality. #TheGazaYouDontSee

The proof that so-called Palestinian self-determination has repeatedly failed is right here. After Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005, Hamas and Fatah didn’t build a peaceful state, they turned their guns on each other. These images are from the 2007, when Hamas and Fatah fought a bloody civil war for control of the Strip. Despite claiming to represent the same people, they killed each other over power. Hamas won, seized Gaza by force, and Fatah retreated to the West Bank. Wherever they gain power, they leave behind division, violence, and destruction.
