Actually they cast shadows, just those are filled by other lights. It is like a football stadium at night, lights hit from every angle so shadows get filled in instantly.

Where was this light when I was helping my dad put on an idler arm on his Oldsmobile? It would have saved me an ass whooping.

🔦 Mind-blowing engineering! Surgical lights use dozens of LEDs from multiple angles so light fills in from every direction — any shadow from a hand or tool instantly gets lit up by another beam. True 'shadowless' magic in the OR. This is why surgeons get crystal-clear visibility during procedures! 👏 #MindBlown #EngineeringMarvels #ScienceIsCool

Because then the surgeons wouldn't be able to see properly, and more people would die...?

That’s pretty rad. But does that mean a person hovering you with that light on is part divine? Or another luciferain? Huh. I wonder who made those lights and probably why surgery is expensive. It keeps the light on for both. But sadly, it’s still not 100%, close anyhow.

its bullshit we constantly have shadows in lumbar disc hernias with small incisions. Maybe abdominal surgery with large incision. This is why we need endoscope sometimes

lol if you’ve ever worked in surgery you know there are shadows - the lights constantly need to be readjusted
