Today, Russia launched around forty missiles of various types in an attempt to evade our air defenses. We were able to intercept the majority of them, but there were still some hits. Over 200 different objects were damaged. 130 residential buildings, all ordinary houses. 130 people were injured. They are all getting assistance. Unfortunately, 18 people were killed. My condolences to their loved ones. The number of casualties may still increase. In Kharkiv, the rescue operation is still ongoing, and debris is still being cleared. This was a regular multi-story building where ordinary people lived. We are working to advance our cooperation with partners regarding the Ukrainian air defense. This year, the main priority is to strengthen air defense to protect our cities and towns, as well as defend frontline positions, which will have an impact on the strategic situation and the war effort as a whole. I am grateful to all of our partners who are helping us complete this task.

In Odesa, two people were killed as a result of Russia’s overnight missile strike on a residential building. Five more people were injured, including three children. Everyone affected is receiving the necessary medical care. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Fifteen guided aerial bombs were used against the Sumy region. One person was injured in Sumy, and residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, including a library, were damaged. Our other regions also came under attack. In the Zaporizhzhia region, two people were killed and five more were injured in an air strike. In the Kharkiv region, three people were injured as a result of shelling. One person was injured in the Chernihiv region. The Kherson, Donetsk, and Dnipro regions also came under attack. In total, the enemy launched more than 130 attack drones and eight missiles against Ukraine overnight. It is important that every state institution and everyone involved in negotiations with partners on supporting Ukraine’s defense and resilience act with maximum speed and effectiveness. The implementation of everything agreed at the leaders’ level must be accelerated. Every defense package today is not just a number, but specific equipment that protects lives here in Ukraine every day. More than 500 personnel of the State Emergency Service have been involved in dealing with the aftermath of Russia’s overnight attack on our cities and communities. The main strike was on Kyiv, where dozens of residential buildings and other purely civilian infrastructure were damaged again. Tragically, four people have been reported killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. At this moment, 38 people are in hospitals in the capital, and all of them are receiving the necessary care. In Dnipro, a search and rescue operation is ongoing at the site of a four-story apartment building. Part of the building was essentially demolished. Nine people were killed in this attack, including a child. Thirty-five people were injured in the city. The fate of six more people remains unknown. The search for them will continue for as long as necessary. The Russians also struck energy facilities in the Kharkiv region and critical infrastructure in Kharkiv. Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions also came under attack. In total, overnight Russia launched 656 attack drones and 73 missiles of various types at our people – ballistic, cruise, and anti-ship missiles. A large-scale attack and an absolutely clear statement from Russia: if Ukraine is not protected from ballistic and other missile strikes, these attacks will continue. Europe needs its own anti-ballistic defense so that this war can finally be brought to an end. And assistance from the United States in supplying missiles for Patriot systems is absolutely necessary. As a result of this Russian crime, 33 people were killed, including 6 children. My condolences to the families and loved ones. Sadly, 6 people are still considered missing. I thank all the services involved in responding to the aftermath of this strike and working to save our people. Emergency work is ongoing in Dnipro at the site where a Russian drone struck near a residential building. Fourteen people were injured in the attack, including a child. I thank all of our services that responded swiftly to extinguish the fire and are providing assistance on the ground. In Nikopol, the Russians struck with an FPV drone, injuring two children and a woman. Once again, there were strikes on residential and civilian infrastructure, as well as on energy facilities in various regions of our country during the night. Throughout the entire week, these attacks continued unabated – more than 1,050 attack drones, nearly 1,000 glide bombs, and over 60 missiles of various types were used. Already today, our advisors will be working in Switzerland with representatives of the United States, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. But in parallel with the diplomatic track, we must do everything to strengthen our defense against such wicked Russian attacks. All necessary services are on the ground, doing everything possible to rescue people and provide assistance to everyone who needs it. So far, 64 people have been rescued, including two children. As of now, it has been confirmed that, tragically, eleven people were killed in this attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Around 60 more people were injured. People are being evacuated from a residential area. More than 400 first responders and police officers have been deployed to deal with the aftermath of the attack. It is critically important that the world – first and foremost the United States and our European partners – come out of the NATO Summit in Ankara with strong decisions in support of our air defense, and thus the protection of ordinary people’s lives.
