Volcanic eruption prompts new evacuations in Iceland A new volcanic eruption has occurred in southwestern Iceland, with lava and thick smoke spewing from the ground. This is not the first eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula — volcanic activity in the area resumed in 2021 and is expected to continue for decades. According to the meteorological service, magma broke through the crust this time, forming a fissure up to one kilometer long. The eruption has been described as relatively small. Flights at Keflavík Airport have not been canceled. Due to the threat, tourists were evacuated from the Blue Lagoon resort, along with residents of a nearby town.

Since late September, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded over 67 earthquakes in the area, primarily concentrated in the Fantale region, part of the Main Ethiopian Rift Valley. Some of the tremors have been felt as far away as #Addis_Abeba, the capital city. According to Samara University, an earthquake on October 6, 2024, caused structural damage to homes and ground fissures. The joke of century, abiy ahmed the new comer to Horn of Africa is calling Somalis the native of east Africa who has whole tectonic by their name Somali Plate ( which is a tectonic plate covering East Africa, Madagascar, and surrounding oceanic crust.) refugees. What a joke! Small reminder, Somalis are one of the oldest native groups in East Africa. They have been living on that land for thousands of years, with their history deeply connected to the region long before modern countries or borders were drawn. While Abiy Ahmed is Oromo, and the Oromo people moved into the central and northern areas of Ethiopia during the 16th and 17th centuries after Somalis were already well established in the Horn.

Iran is exporting more oil than ever before, our Gulf allies feel blindsided, the goalposts are shifting so far there’s no talk of any of the initial goals, and over 30 of our soldiers are in hospitals after the Iranian drone attack in Kuwait. Plus, there’s the missile that struck an Iranian school and killed over a 100 kids. Have there been military wins? Of course! Some great ones. But being realistic about how this is unfolding isn’t unpatriotic - quite the opposite.

He’s been a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in F1. After more than a 30-year hiatus, F1 could race on African soil again by 2027, with a number of locations now competing to host the event. Cape Town’s proposed street circuit and the historic Kyalami track near Johannesburg are both under consideration. Morocco and Rwanda are also exploring the possibility of building new circuits in Marrakesh and Kigali, respectively. Africa’s growing motorsport ambitions are clear, but this is about much more than just hosting a race. Hamilton has emphasised the importance of building a lasting motorsport culture across the continent, investing in grassroots programmes and developing young African talent that could one day compete in F1. Right now, there are no African drivers on the grid, but a Grand Prix in Africa could change that.
