That’s insane! 🤯 A student built an acoustic levitation divide with an Arduino board. He built it using an Arduino Nano, a motor driver, and 60 ultrasonic transducers that can levitate low-density objects in place indefinitely. The transducers send out 40 kHz waves that create standing waves. The interference pattern produces nulls that trap objects. High-pressure areas form below and above the object, locking it in the low-pressure area between them. The transducers produce two sound waves moving in opposing directions at the same frequency and amplitude. The effect is that the low-pressure areas don't appear to move, like whipping a rope from both ends and having the wave meet in the middle. Sound waves are oscillating at high and low pressures. By creating a sound wave that doesn't move forward (a standing wave), you create areas of constant pressure. 🔉 Objects get trapped in the null points between high-pressure zones. AI in robotics gets all the attention right now, but sometimes the most interesting work is very practical. Viet built a small vision system that counts potatoes on a conveyor belt. No giant dataset. No huge model. Just a clear problem and a smart setup. He used Ultralytics’ ObjectCounter, trained a tiny YOLO11 nano model, and because there was no potato dataset, he annotated a single frame with SAM 2 and trained from that. One frame. Still works across the whole video. It is a good reminder that useful AI in industry often looks like this. Focused. Lightweight. Solves a real task. If you work in manufacturing or robotics, these small systems are usually the fastest wins. They save time, reduce errors, and do not need massive infrastructure. Nice work, Viet. The Basics of Electromagnetic Waves: Electricity and magnetism can sit still, like static electricity in your hair or a magnet stuck to your fridge. But when they move and change, they actually create each other. Together, they team up to form invisible ripples of energy called electromagnetic waves. Unlike ocean waves or sound waves, which need water or air to ripple through, electromagnetic waves don't need any material at all. They can easily travel through the completely empty vacuum of space. Maxwell's Big Idea: In the 1860s and 1870s, a Scottish scientist named James Clerk Maxwell figured out how this works. He wrote down the math showing exactly how electricity and magnetism link together to make these travelling waves. Today, scientists call his famous rules Maxwell's Equations. Hertz Proves It: Later, a German physicist named Heinrich Hertz took Maxwell's ideas and brought them to life. He was the first person to actually create and catch radio waves. To honour his work, we use the word hertz to measure how fast a wave vibrates (one cycle per second). "Explosion in Kharkiv" or something along those lines is the most frequent post I make. I've probably made a thousand of them by now, if not more. Air raid alerts are so frequent here that I usually don't even post about them. They can last for days, and the citizens of Kharkiv are forced to disregard them. Or we can have twelve of them in a day, and we will also be forced to disregard them. I often see online how central or western Ukraine complains about the alerts, and oh, how much I would give to have an actual solid warning about an attack like them. But "explosions in Kharkiv" always arrive unexpectedly. How surreal it is that we are forced to live like this. How horrific it is that thousands of bombs, missiles, and drones fall on a major city in Europe daily, and all the major press and political figures just pretend it doesn't happen. Because if they admit that it happens and they just watch it year after year, then what kind of people are they? Do they care at all?

Found out about TinkerCad yesterday night and decided to build a Blinking LED Circuit using the Arduino Uno R3. This is actually cool cause I can prototype things before getting them physically. The code passing info from the micro-controller to the LED bulbs was intuitively easy to write. Ordering my Arduino Uno R3 Kit today, can't wait for it to arrive so that I can put this into action for real!
