@PhotoGhibli Tales from Earth sea is certainly a hidden gem 💎

@PhotoGhibli Visually its amazing to watch but story wise it felt like we had to walk through tar to get through the plot.

@PhotoGhibli A tragic tale of “Son can never suppress Father”

@PhotoGhibli That’s because it’s not very good. The animation is incredible, but the poor pacing and direction make it extremely difficult to watch. I have never made it all the way through the movie, and I’m an animator.

@PhotoGhibli Poor adaptation of the original material, and some changes ruined it, unfortunately.

@PhotoGhibli Visuals were great but plot of very dull and dragged.

@PhotoGhibli Not their best. Watched once and shelved. Will not be rewatching it. Last Ghibli film watched was Earwig and the witch … garbage CGI and story. Should have stuck with what they are good at. Have admired and loved most of their work, but don’t see them producing quality anymore.

@PhotoGhibli The way they (arts) been able to capture the essence of life is magik itself. Proof humanity still has humans worth saving and protecting

@PhotoGhibli

@PhotoGhibli It looks great, but it is not a good ghibli film. Story kinda sucks, the pacing is horrible, and none of the characters feel authentic, or enjoyable. It was tough to get through when I re watched it.

@PhotoGhibli What do you mean? I was in Japan on release year, the whole country was plastered in ads

@PhotoGhibli If I remember it was Miyazaki's son who directed that one. Their relationship got really sour after that since Miyazaki was not really a fan of it.

No one talks about Tales from Earth Sea because it's beautifully awful. Sadly Gorō Miyazaki is cursed. If he touches animation with out his Father it doesn't do well. The only two films that did well with him name in it was Up on Poppy Hill and The Boy and the Heron. Everything else is either ignored or unknown at all.

@PhotoGhibli Earthsea, right? Ursula Le Guin's book-based? - Axat

@PhotoGhibli I loved this movie so much! Saw it 3 times already and still don't know why the boy stabbed his father in the beginning of the movie.

@PhotoGhibli There's a reason nobody talks about it 😅😅😅

@PhotoGhibli I know this got trashed but I love it and think about it almost daily

@PhotoGhibli not a good movie. terrible plot and pacing

@PhotoGhibli the books are greatly better

@PhotoGhibli The documentary/behind the scenes story on some of the DVD copies was really good, in some cases a bit better than the film itself.

@PhotoGhibli Earth sea is an amazing story on its own as well.

@PhotoGhibli Earthsea was pretty forgettable though. Its not even an original story by them but an adaptation of a book which I don't know if it was even good or not in the first place.

@PhotoGhibli This is the movie that got me into the Studio Ghibli movies

@PhotoGhibli Cuz this movie was a real mess. You have to read the books (first and second) to understand something

@PhotoGhibli Because it sucks

@PhotoGhibli Teshima Aoi's voice 🥰🥰🥰🥰

@PhotoGhibli Great !

@PhotoGhibli @grok which anime ?

@PhotoGhibli Oh yeah this is my favourite one.

@PhotoGhibli Damn, no one is talking about it as Studio Boss called his own son a "disgrace" after watching this. I'm glad Miyazaki-sensei softened his position over this matter. But you can tell the lack of true poetry in this movie. Americans will like it tho ;)

@PhotoGhibli It is good, bit complex for kids though

@PhotoGhibli visually it's peak ghibli idc if the story was mid
