A super simple letter-tracking cheatsheet for junior designers. Bookmark it now, escape junior design mode later. Rule 1: All-caps text needs to breathe. Caps-to-caps text is geometrically honest and optically brutal. When you remove ascenders and descenders, every letter becomes the same-height block. If you set labels like START...

🎋MOCOPI vs VIVE TRACKERS🎋 I got a crazy crazy upgrade on full body tracking thanks to the support of my bambuds, so I made a silly dance comparison to compare the tracking between my old FBT and my new one!! ✨ I danced Bibbidiba by Suisei! (ft. bae as my guide lol) I had to use a different model for the Vive comparison because my Toffee model doesn't work well with the trackers! PROS AND CONS 🔽 1. Mocopi is SO MUCH EASIER to set up! It's very very beginner friendly as well and a great asset to get if you're just starting on doing 3D stuff or want to try it out! Vive trackers are lowkey a pain to set up each time! 2. Vive trackers are EXPENSIIIVEEEE!!!!! The tracking is so so so good but only invest in it if you plan to do lots of 3D content! Mocopi is a much affordable option! 3. Related to point 2, but you get what you pay for when it comes to tracking. Vive may be more expensive, but the tracking quality and accuracy makes it worth it. 4. This is only for people that don't have the Valve Headset, but I use a Quest 3 and I have to do EXTRA SETUP to calibrate the trackers with an external program to use in VRChat! (Mocopi also needs an external program (SlimeVR) but it's much easier to set up imo). 5. Since calibration is paired to your headset with the vive trackers, if your headset goes to sleep or something the calibration will be LOST and you will have to recalibrate again which may take 1 to 2 minutes. Mocopi doesn't have this issue and recalibrating is only one button. 6. Mocopi is an IMU so no base stations required but because of this the trackers need to be recalibrated A LOT of times. This may be annoying if you're streaming and you constantly have to press the button to recalibrate. Vive trackers may take longer but you VERY RARELY have to recalibrate if your headset doesn't go to sleep. 7. Vive trackers take a lot of space on your setup. Each tracker needs to be connected to the PC so if you have a lot you may need to buy an USD hub! 8. You need to have a good room space to use vive trackers properly because the base stations need to have a clear view of your trackers or else they can lose tracking! Mocopi is an IMU, so no amount of obstruction will make the trackers lose tracking. 9. The amount of poses and movement that you can do with vive trackers is NIGHT AND DAY compared to the mocopi. A lot of poses or rapid movements will make the mocopis mess up their tracking and you will have to recalibrate. Vive trackers will not need any recalibration. Basically if you're a vtuber that only wants to dabble into 3D content as a fun little thing I think mocopis are very much a good choice! But if you'd like to do 3D stuff that require more intensive tracking like dancing, vive trackers are excellent and very much worth the price!

Some Major Methods Phone Thieves Use to Evade IMEI Tracking: 1. IMEI Modification or Cloning Skilled thieves (or repair shops) use specialized tools/software to change or spoof the IMEI number. This makes the phone appear as a different device on networks. While illegal in many countries, it's still common, especially on Android models. 2. Factory Reset + WiFi-Only Mode Thieves perform a factory reset and lock the phone to WiFi-only (no SIM card). This prevents it from connecting to cellular networks where IMEI is visible and trackable. The device can still be used or sold for WiFi/apps only locally known as “locked” 3. Exporting/Selling to Other Countries or Regions Stolen phones are often moved to neighboring countries (e.g., other West African nations) where IMEI blacklists aren't shared or enforced, rendering local tracking ineffective. 4. Hardware Modifications Replacing motherboard components, microchips, or other parts to bypass locks, reset protections, or alter device identity. This can disable tracking features entirely. 5. Selling in Parts or Destroying the Device Breaking the phone down for components (screens, batteries, etc.) or destroying it eliminates any chance of tracking the original device. Important Note: Even advanced IMEI tracing technology has no guarantee of success because these evasion tactics are widespread. IMEI is primarily useful for blacklisting (making the phone unusable on networks), not precise real-time GPS-style location tracking.

Here is how Marc could improve the landing page: First, even tho the initial audience was Indie Makers, it's not the one that brings the most $$ (as per Marc). So, we need to make it super clear who is the landing page for. The "problem" is that there are multiple audiences, and we can't niche down the main landing page yet. It means the main landing will be more generalist to appeal to more people, but will be slightly less impactful as a result. The solution for this is to create multiple landing pages for specific audiences with super precise headlines For our general landing page, we want: - What is it - Who is this for - Make it clear what the main benefits are What is it -> Analytics app Who is this for -> Online businesses Main benefit -> Simple to use/setup (no code), accurate revenue tracking, it's modern, unlike what they use at the moment (Google Analytics) Headline: - "Modern analytics for online businesses" (if we position against Google Analytics and other bloated apps) - "Easy analytics for online businesses" 👉 You might want to A/B test them eventually Now, it would be even BETTER if we had data on WHY they want to track revenues (ex: Measure ROI, find opportunities, etc), but for now, we can stay generic and then test different ones later As for the audience-specific landing pages, you can mention the name of the audience directly to make it relevant to them: - The analytics platform for marketplaces - The analytics platform for course creators - etc... Subheadline: - Accurate revenue tracking without a line of code Bullet points (all 3): - Integrates with 50+ platforms - Accurate revenue tracking & funnels - Setup in 5 minutes Call to action: - "Start 14-day trial" implies a payment will be needed, which creates friction at some point - Better have something neutral ("Start For Free", "Get Started Now") or action-focused (in this case "Create your project" or "Setup my website") Then we have the big image section. Right now, it occupies lots of space and provide little value. What would be better here is to either have an interactive embedding or a video showcasing the main features of the app. And in both case, you want to make it smaller, and interactive As for the signup page: Right now it's very austere, and the video on the left side catch the attention more than the form. I showed examples in the video, but you want to have a step by step guided onboarding that doesn't feel like people are creating accounts. No one like creating accounts, it creates additional friction. So I would start by asking the website URL, THEN ask for the email (and no need for email verification, just create the account and log them in automatically). That way you remove friction and then can jump straight to installing the code snippet (which is the point where they start getting value from the product) Obviously there is waaaaaay more things to do, and ultimately, especially since I don't have all the relevant data What I mentioned above are mainly good practices, and you will want to talk with users, A/B test and see what works the best :)

Refresher On The Rules For Discussing Israeli Wars Okay it’s been a few months since the last war Israel started, so now that Iran’s on the chopping block let’s go over the rules once again. Rule 1: Israel is never the aggressor. If Israel attacks someone it’s either a response to an aggression that happened in the past, or a preemptive attack to thwart an imminent aggression in the future. Rule 2: History automatically restarts at the date of the last act of aggression against Israel. If someone attacks Israel it was completely unprovoked, because nothing happened before the attack on Israel. Rule 3: Anything bad that Israel does is justified by Rule 2. This is true even if it does things that would be considered completely unjustifiable if it were done by a nation like Russia or China. Rule 4: Israel has a right to defend itself, but nobody else does. Rule 5: Israel never bombs civilians, it bombs Bad Guys. If shocking numbers of civilians die it’s because they were actually Bad Guys, or because Bad Guys killed them, or because a Bad Guy stood too close to them. If none of those reasons apply then it’s for some other mysterious reason we are still waiting for the IDF to investigate. Rule 6: Criticizing anything Israel does means you hate Jewish people. There is no other possible reason for anyone to oppose acts of mass military slaughter besides a seething, obsessive hatred for a small Abrahamic faith. Rule 7: Nothing Israel does is ever as bad as the hateful criticisms described in Rule 6. Criticisms of Israel’s actions are always worse than Israel’s actions themselves, because those critics hate Jews and wish to commit another Holocaust. Preventing this must consume 100 percent of our political energy and attention. Rule 8: Israelis are only ever the victims and never the victimizers. If Israelis kill Iranians, it’s because the Iranians hate Jews. If Iranians kill Israelis, it’s because the Iranians hate Jews. Israel is an innocent little lamb that just wants to mind its own business in peace. Rule 9: The fact that Israel is literally always in a state of war with its neighbors and with displaced indigenous populations must be interpreted as proof that Rule 8 is true instead of proof that Rule 8 is ridiculous nonsense. Rule 10: The lives of people in Muslim nations are much, much less important to us than western lives or Israeli lives. Nobody is allowed to think too hard about why this might be. Rule 11: The media always tell the truth about Israel and its various conflicts. If you doubt this then you are likely in violation of Rule 6. Rule 12: Unsubstantiated claims which portray Israel’s enemies in a negative light may be reported as factual news stories without any fact checking or qualifications, while extensively evidenced records of Israeli criminality must be reported on with extreme skepticism and doubtful qualifiers like “Iran claims”, “Hezbollah says” or “according to the Hamas-run health ministry”. This is important to do because otherwise you might get accused of being a propagandist. Rule 13: Israel must continue to exist in its current iteration no matter what it costs or how many people need to die. There is no need to present any logically or morally grounded reasons why this is the case. If you dispute this then you are likely in violation of Rule 6. Rule 14: The US government has never lied about anything ever, and is always on the right side of every conflict. Rule 15: Israel is the last bastion of freedom and democracy in the middle east and therefore must be defended, no matter how many journalists it has to assassinate, no matter how many press institutions it needs to shut down, no matter how many protests its supporters need to dismantle, no matter how much free speech it needs to eliminate, no matter how many civil rights its western backers need to erase, and no matter how many elections its lobbyists need to buy. Peter Thiel on why shortcuts worked perfectly for Boomers but are “deadly” if you’re a Millennial Thiel believes the effectiveness of “shortcuts” in life oscillates from generation to generation: “It’s a good idea to take shortcuts in a world where nobody takes shortcuts. In a world where everybody takes shortcuts, maybe the shortcut isn’t going to work and you’re actually better off figuring out the other thing.” He gives politics as an example: “The shortcut in politics is, ‘I’m not going to figure out what I think about the issues; I’m just going to look at the polls.’ The pollster was the one who was really for President, and that was an effective Boomer technique for many years. If you had a better pollster, you could more quickly get to where the crowd was going, and you didn’t need to waste time thinking about stuff. In a world where very few people are doing it, that can be a very good strategy. But by the time you get to the Millennials — when everyone’s been trained to take shortcuts — it doesn’t quite work.” Thiel continues: “It vaguely maps onto tracking. Tracking in school or tracking professionally is a shortcut to a successful career. Baby Boomers who stayed on track did quite well… you went to law school, you became a partner at a law firm, and the tracks worked. By the time we get to the Millennials, they know all the tracks you’re supposed to do, but the tracks work less well when everyone knows them and everyone’s doing the same thing. There are these similarities between the Millennials and the Boomers, but in practice it’s working really differently. The things that would’ve worked perfectly for you as a Boomer are deadly if you’re a Millennial.” Video source: Dave Rubin Dave RubinShow (2018)

.tobi lutke removed all the Norman doors from Shopify’s offices because he couldn’t have excellent people surrounded by bad design. Ramp Cofounder Eric Glyman says he learned the same lesson by studying Breville toasters: “ If you care about design, you should buy a Breville toaster.” “ One of the big problems in a lot of B2B software is: it starts out clean and elegant. There's a bunch of businesses who love the product and they start serving more customers and have more requirements and more ideas.” “Before you know it, you end up with these disasters of B2B softwares which require a PhD to learn how to use.” “ If you were to go ask people, ‘What do you want in a toaster or in a microwave?’ They might say I like toast but sometimes I want to reheat pizza. I should have a ‘reheat frozen pizza’ mode. Or maybe you're cooking stuff and want it to be more like an oven, or you want to make popcorn and it's a toaster/microwave and all these things.” “Before you know it, you end up with these toasters filled with buttons and buttons and knobs and dials.” “That is literally asking customers what they want and building exactly that.” “ if you watch people toast things, what they actually do falls into two categories: you hit start and either you've undercooked the toast and need to put it back in, or you've overdone it and have to start over.” “If you look at the [Breville] there are only a few buttons. One of the four buttons is called ‘A Bit More.’” “ No one would ask you for ‘A Bit More.’ They just want the perfect level of toast and it's hard to know that, so they built that in.”

BREAKING: Fani Willis faces relentless attacks from Trump and Republicans and is now forced to move around with bodyguards. She even had to leave her home while nobody is defending her, MSNBC's Rachel Rachel Maddow claims, urges Americans to save the rule of law from death today and re-elect Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney who is prosecuting Trump in Georgia. WATCH "She travels with bodyguards, she's been forced to leave her home. All this while former President Trump continues to attack her relentlessly to his supporters, and as Republicans at the county, state, and federal level do everything they can to undermine and impugn and stymie her work and smear her personally. This level of sustained public attack is not usually the price of entry for doing your job as a district attorney. Nor should it be in a country where the rule of law is supposedly the rule. The ability of prosecutors and judges to do their jobs without fear is a fundamental test of our democracy. Whether you like the Georgia criminal case against former President Trump or not, Fani Willis is one of the bellwethers for the rule of law in this country. The history of the rule of law in this country tells us that the rule of law does not magically defend itself. And it is mortal. It can be killed when it is attacked. It breaks. The rule of law in this country, in practical terms, is made up of people doing hard jobs who themselves can break when they are attacked. And right now, you and I, all of us, we are making history in this country. And the history that we are making is that there is no one defending Fani Willis but herself. And in the noble alternate version of this history that we'd like to imagine we would be part of, the whole country would be up in arms about Georgia and about New York and about all of these cases, telling these people to back off the judges, back off the witnesses and the jurors, back off the prosecutors, back off Fonny Willis. Protect these cases. Protect the rule of law. We imagine that's who we are as a country, but we are not showing it. We are not standing up to defend these people, at least not yet. Let's start with the federal government and Jim Jordan. Jim Jordan has time after time after time attacked my office with no legitimate purpose. Anyone who knows Jim Jordan's history knows that he only has the purpose of trying to interfere in a criminal investigation. He has now turned his tricks to, he's going to look at grant programs, which I invite him to do, and we have complied with his subpoenas, but yet he continues his attacks to try to interfere in a criminal investigation while all, while his jurisdiction has one of the worst crime rates, has poverty issues, and not one time has he used his position to try to investigate people who are attacking me and attacking others legitimately, doing their jobs, making him illegitimate in his position. And it's disgusting. And so I bring that up at the federal level because now at the state level, they've decided to follow this clown's lead and they want to now try to interfere in an investigation. And it's not legitimate either. And so it shall fail, and it's not going to go anywhere. But they are trying to attack me at every level."
