Society only has itself to blame for this. Will become the norm so long as shoplifting continues to be widespread. Fact my lad works at a charity shop that gets shoplifters frequently speaks volumes about the world right now.

Same in the new the Morrisons in Brentford. Unfortunately considering the rise in shoplifting and the lack of consequences for doing it. Supermarkets need to find new ways preventing theft.

It's to make sure you don't have more than your new social allowance of alcohol.

Much of this is because self service tills lanes have made it easier to steal. .. just walk in and walk out. This is cheaper than paying more staff

I prefer the cabinets to the string vests, but looks like Tesco have gone the whole hog here. The vests just make them look less appealing to me. Might help my alcoholism 🙄

Interesting to see Tesco in Perivale ramping up security. Maybe while they’re at it, they should give the store a makeover—it’s starting to look a bit old and dusty. A fresh look might help with both theft prevention and customer appeal!
