A tiny protocol to stream data over QR codes in both directions at once. Each device confirms receipt of the previous chunk, so it handles interruptions smoothly. Made this for webRTC signalling and other things as part of the Folk Canvas project with @chrisshank23

Wow! Send A File By Just The Camera! A vibe coder used AI to build a file transfer system that sends data between two phones using only a screen and a camera. One phone displays a new type of animated QR codes while the other scans them to rebuild the file, with no Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or cables needed. It is fully optical and local. The system uses fountain codes that create each QR frame as a random mix of file data. This keeps transfers working even if some frames are missed, reaching speeds of about 129 KB/s for a 2 MB image. The entire project was built in one night and released as open source. The idea came from a music project where the developer wanted to share MP3 files without streaming or using the same network. Animated QR codes became the solution, showing a creative new way to transfer files with everyday phone hardware. GitHub link:

SOMEONE BUILT A WAY TO SEND FILES BETWEEN TWO PHONES WITH NO WIFI, NO BLUETOOTH AND NO NETWORK AT ALL it works with just a screen flashing qr codes at a camera one device plays an endless stream of animated qr codes, the other one points its camera at the screen and rebuilds the file out of the light no pairing, no app, no shared network, nothing but the camera > its pulling about 129 kb/s, a full 2mb image transfers in seconds > theres no back channel, the receiver can never ask for a missed frame, so it uses fountain codes, every frame is a scrambled mix of the file rather than one piece of it > that means the receiver just collects any frames it can catch in any order, and once it has enough it can reconstruct the whole file > dropping frames costs you a little time but never breaks the transfer > you can point the camera at a stream thats already running and it just locks on mid flight he was building a cached mp3 player because he was sick of ads and bad streaming quality. he wanted a way to send tracks phone to phone without both phones being on the same network, and realized flashing qr codes could carry the data he built the whole working prototype in one night with claude code its open source and already at 375 stars

The other day they formed a duo breakaway as a prank at the start of the stage - today was no time for jokes when both ended up in the chicane. But Jonas and Johannes made it back and could pat each other. 💛 #TdF2024

are fighting again over a piece of desert land and shooting at each other with howitzers. Heavy weapons fire in both directions at more than 40 points along the border, with reports of dozens of soldiers killed and control points and strongholds captured. They are bored there. They don't know what else to do, so from time to time they find a reason to fight.

Claude Code made key sections of my launch video for me (quoted) In this specific chunk, I had Claude write out a fake terminal interaction using ANSI codes so I could time it out to the music and create the ANSI explosion effect! There are a couple other tricks here too 1/

Made this interaction of Linear’s dithered logo for our latest release. It’s using canvas with a lot of tiny dots. There’s an invisible circle around the cursor. Any dot inside it gets pushed outward with a cubic falloff so it’s gentle on the edges, and strong at the center.

The science of levitation: The figure-eight shape of the paper creates joined wings. When it spins there are equal forces of lift and drag on each side, both moving in different directions The board creates a base for airflow to be maintained close enough to the paper

From their very first filming day together, Hudson & Connor "were so careful with each other. It was the two of them even then. They were taking care of each other right from the start. They didn't have a trailer cause they had to brush their teeth in a bathroom." the fact that from their first moment on set, there was this complete trust between them. They were in it together, they were gonna take the best care of each other. And this, this safe space they found in each other, it always remained as it became part of their own relationship. Any big events, they always appear like a rock, a "stability" to ground e/o in the middle of the noise/crowd. It's so damn precious to realize.. how it's always been here 🥹 #hudcon

A ball dropped onto a rigid surface rebounds with a coefficient of restitution of 0.80, so each successive peak is lower than the last as energy is dissipated at every impact. Once the ball comes to rest, potential and kinetic energy are both zero and the entire initial mechanical energy is recorded as loss.

A Ukrainian airstrike targeted a highway bridge in the town of Urazovo, Belgorod Oblast. This bridge is used to resupply the Kupyansk and Velykyi Burluk directions. The strike likely came in response to recently intensified Russian assault operations and increased advances in both of these directions. The video does not show the aftermath of the strike, however, considering the munition struck the part of the bridge over land, the damage is likely not major. Coordinates: 50.069131, 38.038237

#Syria: return of displaced Kurdish people to Ras Al-Ain didn't go as smoothly as previous returns elsewhere. A number of residents attacked and vandalized vehicles part of the return convoy, with claims that those targeted are "#SDF-affiliated". This raises serious questions about the security arrangements, as return convoys are supposed to be protected by Security forces.

new skill: create-canvas. last week I made a skill to put every component from a repo on one canvas. I started using it with my agent to create variations, compare ideas, and iterate visually without leaving the codebase. so I made a new skill around that workflow. instead of moving your work into another tool, bring the canvas into your codebase and use it to explore UI with your agent, using the real components, styles, and project context already there.
