Vladyslav Heraskevych’ was disqualified from the Winter Olympics on Thursday after refusing to remove a helmet commemorating 24 Ukrainian athletes killed in the war. Olympic officials had told the athlete, Vladyslav Heraskevych, that the helmet violated the Games’ prohibition on political speech. The helmet, designed by friends and painted with painstaking detail by artist Iryna Prots, was meant as a tribute to those lost. "Our athletes have been killed," Prots told CBS News' Aidan Stretch . "And now, it's already the 4th year of the war, and it feels like no one cares."

Ukrainian athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych planned to wear a helmet with photos of Ukrainian athletes killed by Russia during the 2026 Olympics. He was forbidden for doing so by the International Olympics Committee and said this decision "breaks his heart." Earlier, an Italian athlete was allowed to wear a helmet with a Russian flag on it. (He explained he wears the flags of all countries where he took part in the Olympics) Sports is never beyond politics. These fallen Ukrainian athletes are victims of brutal Russian aggression. 📹: heraskevychvladyslav/Instagram

The International Olympic Committee no longer recommends restrictions on Belarusian athletes’ participation in the Olympics. According to them, the National Olympic Committee is "in good standing and complies with the Olympic Charter." Comment from me: Belarus also complies with Russia and is an accomplice in Russia's war against Ukraine. Russia uses Belarus to launch missiles and drones at Ukrainian cities, and Belarus fully supports Russia. 📹: The wall of remembrance for Ukrainian athletes killed by Russia at the Olympic Stadium in Kyiv. Many of these athletes could have competed in the Olympics, but Russia killed them, with Belarus as accomplice. Sports is not beside politics.

🇺🇦 Remembrance is not a violation. The International Olympic Committee thought it disqualified a Ukrainian athlete for honoring 660 athletes & trainers killed by Russia’s war. In reality, it disqualified itself from the Olympic spirit. There were no slogans, no hate—just portraits of the fallen. They will never compete again. They deserve remembrance. Proud of Vladyslav Heraskevych OLY for choosing dignity over silence. #RemembranceIsNotAViolation #StandWithUkraine #ShameOnIOC #DignityMatters IOC MEDIA НОК України The Olympic Games

In 1936 the Nazis used the Olympics to whitewash their crimes and now Russia is doing the same. While they send missiles to Ukraine they send flights of athletes to use medals as propaganda. Russia killed 600 Ukrainian athletes & they are allowed to compete. Total disgrace

The Ukraine war was a completely avoidable disaster. Even after it began, Russia and Ukraine made a peace deal, but the US/UK flew in to say no deal. DC elites have long planned to use Ukraine against Russia. But what's the plan, other than fight to the last Ukrainian - or WWIII?
