Very good discussion with Prime Minister GR Kyriakos Mitsotakis as I continue my #TourdesCapitales in Athens. 🇬🇷 The events of this summer, from the devastating wildfires and natural disasters to the impacts of the war in the Middle East and Russian hybrid attacks, have once again shown that Europe must be prepared to respond effectively to unforeseen challenges. That’s why we need to reach agreement this year on a long-term budget that gives us the capacity to act. Greece is in a strategic position in the Mediterranean and towards the Middle East. It was important for me to hear the Prime Minister’s perspective about the region. Χαίρομαι πολύ που είμαι στην Ελλάδα!

As Europe keeps pushing for a swift and lasting end to the war in Iran, we must also address our long-term energy security. That means investing in grids, resilient infrastructure, and secure supply chains. And ultimately achieving strategic autonomy.

Thank you, dear Prime Minister Rumen Radev, for our very useful exchange of views in Sofia, on my #TourdesCapitales. 🇧🇬 We discussed the next long-term EU budget, how to accelerate our work to reduce energy costs for citizens and industry, and our efforts to build a more resilient, competitive and secure Europe. We also discussed Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine and Russia’s dangerous escalation. Удоволствие е да съм в България!

Very constructive meeting with Janez Janša, as I conclude the second week of my #TourdesCapitales in Ljubljana. 🇸🇮 A new geopolitical reality calls for a new approach to the next long-term EU budget, with a new structure and a new way of allocating our resources. Our timeline is clear - agree in 2026, legislate and prepare in 2027, deliver the funding in 2028. I commend and thank Slovenia for its steadfast support for enlargement. There is real momentum in this process. Reforms by candidates are paying off and must continue. ¡Lepo je obiskati Slovenijo!

Tomorrow Minister Chambers and I will present #Budget2026. We believe it is a fair & balanced budget that aims to address the challenges of today while ensuring we have the capacity to invest in our future and what our country needs to keep us moving in the right direction.

Germany's Chancellor Merz: We all know that security in Europe has fundamentally changed in recent years. It is clear that Russia poses an imminent threat to us. In this time of geopolitical uncertainty and growing security challenges, Germany carries a special responsibility, not only for its own future, but also for the unity of Europe as a whole. We are transforming our army, the Bundeswehr, into the strongest conventional army in Europe.

The challenges of yesterday are not necessarily the challenges of tomorrow. The SNP needs the freedom and flexibility to ensure that we can move Scotland forward. We need to speak to the country with one voice. Our voice. Today marks a new beginning for the SNP Government.

President Macron making the case for renewables in light of the US-Israeli attack on Iran, "This is the cost of dependency" "So when you've heard me talk for years about greater autonomy and decarbonisation" "Because France does not produce oil and gas on its own soil, that's it" "In other words, everything we do to move towards transition is also about reducing our dependence and therefore our exposure to geopolitical risks" "And so we are right to continue to electrify on a massive scale, to reduce our dependence" "It's a long road" "We have accelerated this process considerably in recent years" "It is useful at times like these"

To protect our economy and national security, we’re focused on building resilient supply chains to reduce strategic dependencies and ensure the U.S. can meet its essential needs. This trade deal is just the first step in making sure that we continue to have the process, plan, and mechanism in place to avoid future need for upward tariff pressure and deliver lasting benefits to the American people.

Stephen Flynn, "When we're at war on our continent, and we are at war with Russia" "Our most trusted ally is choosing to proactively try and divide Europe" "That does the US a disservice, and it does all of us a disservice" "The challenge we face is that we respond to that accordingly. And that we unite across Europe against our common enemies" "And there was a pretty big announcement in Europe of a £150 billion defence fund, that we could have accessed" "But we chose not to because we're not in the European Union any more" "We need to be sure we don't get pulled in both directions. One way towards the Atlantic, one way across to Europe, and end up missing the security that people deserve"

Hello from France👋, I’m excited to share with you some big news! The Resonance Science Foundation is transitioning into the International Space Federation (ISF), marking our latest step in the unification of physics, education, and technology. Our new headquarters in Geneva takes advantage of Switzerland's neutrality, and we believe this shift best supports our research, development, and announcements in the long term. As we have already begun our series of publications, we're excited to continue to share our discoveries, creating a bright future for humanity to thrive and harmonize its technology with nature. A big thank you to all of you who have supported us for the last years. I hope you will once again join us in our work towards sustainable energy solutions and gravity control. Be part of it with us!

PRX alecks: "The highs of 2023 and the lows of 2024 helped us to be where we are today. Having a performance coach like Panda really helps. The fact that our organization believes in us and told us to take as long as we need to figure things out gives us a lot of security and allows us the opportunity to work on our game. I want to thank the fans, even though we had a shit year, let’s be real, I think everyone had our backs, and that really pushed us forward to where we are now." #VALORANTMasters

"Our resources that we have here are an enormous advantage. As long as we allocate those resources intelligently, they're going to continue to be an enormous advantage. I think Steve gives us everything we need to have not only a great roster, but a competitive organization in every single respect. I think our players and coaches recognize that. I have no doubt that we're going to continue to have the resources we need to compete at a very high level." - David Stearns

With Andrej Babiš in Prague 🇨🇿 as I finish up the first week of my #TourdesCapitales. We discussed the EU’s enlargement, competitiveness and our next long-term budget. Protecting the future of our industries is also a matter of strengthening Europe’s security - and affordable energy is a fundamental component for Europe’s competitiveness. This is one of the main objectives of our “One Europe, One Market” agenda. Je skvělé být v Česku!

Europe is engaged in a battle for freedom and democracy. It must build its geopolitical power to participate as an equal player. That’s why we have embarked on the biggest military undertaking in recent history. Extract of my speech at EU Institute for Security Studies conference ↓
