It was a pleasure to welcome ambassadors, CGs, envoys, diplomats, and representatives of UN agencies and militaries. As we celebrate Christmas and the new year, I hope the year ahead brings joy, prosperity, peace, and stability to the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the world.

All Syrians deserve security, stability, and prosperity. The U.S. is lifting sanctions against Syria and encouraging UN member states to do the same. Our efforts are fulfilling President Trump's promise to facilitate a new start for the people of Syria as they seek a stable and prosperous future.

🚨WATCH: PM Netanyahu in a message to Turkey: We are not seeking confrontation with anyone. On the contrary, we seek stability, prosperity, and peace. The three of us are committed to protecting each of our countries (Israel, Cyprus, and Greece), as well as sea routes and other shared matters that fall under international norms. We hope that our coalition will not be put to the test.

This is the moment to reaffirm our hope for, and contributions to, a two-state solution -- the only sustainable path to peace & security for Israelis, Palestinians & the wider region. ‌ The United Nations is totally committed to supporting a pathway to peace, based on an end to the occupation & the establishment of a fully independent, democratic, viable, contiguous & sovereign Palestinian State, with Gaza as an integral part.

Lasting peace is built from within communities. While the Government remains committed to supporting and facilitating these efforts, sustainable solutions must be locally driven, rooted in dialogue, trust and collective responsibility.

I welcome the fall of Assad’s murderous regime and share Syrians’ hope, joy, and trepidation. Yet shamefully, the immediate response of far-right leaders has been to demand deportations. Our government must support Syrian refugees and uphold their right to stay or return.

At the notorious Saydnaya prison, a symbol of the atrocities inflicted on Syrians, the cruelty is unspeakable. Syria’s future must ensure such horrors never happen again, and be built on peace, coexistence, dignity and prosperity for all.

For over a decade, Syrians have seen death, destruction & despair. Over 15 million require humanitarian assistance. The United Nations remains committed to the Syrian people & their quest for dignity, justice & peace. But we can't do it alone. My appeal to the international community.
