Christopher Nolan is all over my timeline & all I can think about is how badly I want to see The Odyssey. I read a Tweet earlier comparing it to Lawrence of Arabia. Christopher Nolan uses THE ODYSSEY to give us a thought-provoking parable about contemporary problems. But Homer's ODYSSEY isn't a parable. It's a myth, and myth is about the timeless. The danger is that you can miss the timeless by getting stuck on the contemporary. And our civilizational problems often get compounded by our contemporary "solutions."

Why Christopher Nolan chose everyday American accents and Travis Scott over traditional cinema voices, and why he says the old way has absolutely no logic. Interviewer: I’m curious about the use of American accents. It felt like an intentional choice. Christopher Nolan: To me, I didn't want to look back to the Hollywood of the 50s and 60s where everyone spoke with an elevated Mid-Atlantic or British accent. There's no logic to that.
