I would like these to be takedowns. It would benefit the sport.

As an OSU fan I agree but Brands was closer and didn’t immediately toss the brick. Had to see something the camera didn’t see. He knew ‘97 was a loss. Them winning hinged on this match, he would have tossed it immediately if he was certain.

fucking stop. the speed with which Tom Brands throws a fucking brick means nothing. that was a takedown.

Opinion on this one? Pretty similar. I guess you can argue that Jax got back to his feet a bit quicker, but if one of these is a TD and the other isn’t, makes it nearly impossible for officials.

Just because you keep pausing it doesn’t make it a takedown, his reaction time was definitely fast enough to show he never had control, however I do believe the reaction time should go away, it leaves too much judgement to the ref

Agreed. Reaction time argument is absurd

The way they are calling reaction time is the problem... if your hitting a whizzer (or switch, etc.) on the way to the mat... no takedown! But if you land on all 4's like this and then whizzer or whatever, you got scored on. It's become like little kids wrestling where they wait for a 'clear call' to make a call. Until we start rewarding people that are taking risks and finishing techniques... we will see 1-1 overtime (heavyweight like) matches at all weights. 'Safe' wrestling and officiating sucks! Open up and be aggressive... that is what the sport is supposed to be about.

At this point you’re just showing that the refs are consistent with the no take down due to reaction time calls.

I think if it happened to us we’d be mad! And would want the td. But I’d also be saying that you can’t leave it in the hands of the ref.

"Reaction time" & just overall poor reffing is ruining the sport we need to take all ref subjectivity out of the sport bc they cannot handle it and continue doing such a poor job. Get rid of this nonsense reaction time and implement step out rule take the sport back from the refs

You can’t fix bad calls but you can yell louder! Haha

Reaction time only makes calls subjective and takes points off the board. I loved it when they got rid of it and didn’t understand why they brought it back.
