@coachrgrubbs @PfaffSC @jb_morin @KenClarkSpeed @wildy_jj @R_Nagahara @HelenBayneZA Can I ask a dumb question 🙋‍♀️ Since sprinting is a motor skill when do we profile? I see people profiling kids that do not own any competence. Can you commment on that from your view? Thx! 🙏

Never a stupid question from you @carmenbott Sprinting is motor skill but highly afforded by physical qualities. So I would profile from the beginning of a journey with any athlete. It costs me very little time, is embedded into a training session and creates the language and connection with the athlete between field and gym. Why would you not measure incompetent movers? They’re the best to show video to and illustrate good vs bad. They are the easiest to empower with better competence by using running gate as a vessel to understand hinging, pelvic control, trunk control, pretension , force direction, RFD, elasticity…. Etc. There is always so much low hanging fruit and low friction in general motor skills when physical conditioning is framed from running, stopping, jumping. No doubt kids and incompetent movers get faster easily by just getting stronger. I just prefer to create the lens for physical performance from the actions that dominate the sport. Captures the imagination of the player and empowers them way faster than an fms or equivalent. Thoughts?

@coachrgrubbs @PfaffSC @jb_morin @KenClarkSpeed @wildy_jj @R_Nagahara @HelenBayneZA This is a super cool product. Being able to get all this data with just 1 camera is impressive. That being said, what’s the max sprint distance you can measure?

@coachrgrubbs @PfaffSC @jb_morin @KenClarkSpeed @wildy_jj @R_Nagahara @HelenBayneZA Thanks a lot.👌🏾 20m per camera 📸 You can go from a static start or fly into the run. For team sports I get most of what I need from 20m sprint.

SPRINT RSI! I bet this improves your coaching eye! Questions I am asking about my programs during running rehab. Do our improvement in “switching” transfer to better sprinting? Can I measure that? Do our improvement in strength/power increase PROJECTION (rebound height through minimum yield) Does improvement in calf ankle qualities improve reactivity (low ground time, low yield ankle , good postures) ? Throw back to Aspetar سبيتار On the weekend I shared a snippet of a project I have been running with our rehabbers! We see a great alignment between thigh angular velocity and SPRINT RSI. It’s a a great teaching and training tool to use before and during early running exposure. You get all of the intra /inter-limb sequencing, reflexive patterning and vertical forces whilst not having to deal with large eccentric forces on the hamstrings. The box height is important as a constraint to encourage rebound and height after hitting the floor. The knowledge of results (ground time/height) provides instant feedback, and is really useful for the rehabber to calibrate their execution. I need you guys to take this exercise and run with it. How do your lower limb rehabbers look when executing? Does your coaching, constraints or just exposure have positive impacts on sequencing and outputs? Keen to get your feedback! 😏Secrets of deceleration assessment… it’s not about the turn.🙋🏽‍♂️ For 15 years I have studied great coaches. A common thread has been that they all use intense actions as movement screens. Thus they have a great coaching eye. ❓Why intense actions? 🙋🏽‍♂️Analysis of sprinting, stoping , turning , hopping, jumping, cutting, backwards running opens a diagnostic window to assess how athletes create pretension and share load across their system. dpfaff has made this clear 🏥Be it for rehab (physios are coaches in my world) or for explosive sports. It’s the same screen, but through different lenses 🧐🤓 👀What are they looking at? 💡The same thing as you. 👀What do they SEE? 🤔Well that’s a different story. Damian Harper, PhD has set the scene for what metrics matter and Tom Dos'Santos has re-clarified the shapes that are safe vs effective for deceleration and COD. ↩️When you watch a 180 degree turn, all the focus is on the turn. Turning and being perturbed at speed is the ultimate speed ability for team sports and also a moment of tragedy for knees and hamstrings. To assess turning efficiency we use vuemotion to measure the shapes , velocities , decelerations and movement efficiency of team sports players. We create PSR reports to simplify the metrics and make it actionable for our clients across professional leagues. ⚽️🏀🏈🥎🎾🏉 📝The plant step is important but is highly impacted by the previous 1-5 steps. 🦘Just like in the Olympics. A good take off in the long jump is the result of the preceding 4-5 “steering steps”. This applies to any jumping when we are converting horizontal to vertical momentum… ❓Does it continue to happen in Braking, COD and agility… 💡These penultimate steps are critical for steering , and are how we constantly adjust our locomaotion. 📝Frans Bosch has made it clear, efficient execution of intense actions are characterised by optimal limb SWITCH and the associated reflexive postures of hip lock. 🤔What movement preference can be observed in the penultimate, antipenultimate, preantipenultimate , propreantipenultimate steps during an intense deceleration? 🤔What clues can you get about a players triple flexion ability? Do they share the load? 🤔How do they coordinate co contractions around hip and knee? Can they sit to create leverage? 🤔 What do asymmetries say about physical qualities and player confidence? 🧪When assessing deceleration for team sports we recognise the 15-0-5 for its maximal intensities but we utilise the 10-0-5 more often because we can get more reps and teaching moments out of it. Needless to say we love ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ʙᴜᴄʜʜᴇɪᴛ new paper on the topic. Key Highlights: 🔹 Effective Pressing: Crucial for disrupting opponents and regaining possession, enhancing offensive opportunities. 🔹 Injury Risks: Pressing increases injury risks, particularly ACL injuries. 🔹 Realistic Training: We compared the 15-0-5 change of direction test with actual match-pressing actions to enhance testing and training realism. 🔹 Peak Speeds: Similar peak speeds in 15-0-5 and match-pressing actions validate the 15-0-5 as a practical tool for assessing and training pressing demands. 🔹 Future Directions (1): Incorporate variability in speed, angle of change in direction and deceleration demands, along with perception-action challenges for better simulation of game conditions. 🔹 Future Directions (2): Motorized sprint resistance devices can enhance assessment and training, providing valuable data for player development and injury prevention. #Football #SportsScience #Research #Training #InjuryPrevention #PerformanceOptimization #EliteAthletes

WARP SPEED: EPISODE 3 - starring Dada, CEO of Sorce Jobs Dada You only get to live once. So you have to use the best software you can. Dada, daniel ajayi and david built Sorce (YC F25) into Tinder for Jobs—20 million swipes, companies like SpaceX, Anduril, Stripe, DoorDash, and Lyft hiring through their platform. 2.7 million video views. Got into YC three days after the deadline. Dada didn't plan to start a company. He built Sorce to apply to jobs faster for himself. Then SpaceX hired someone through Sorce. Then Anduril did too. "Our biggest fear was: are you just going to destroy the industry? Then Anduril hired someone from Sorce, and SpaceX hired someone from Sorce. I was like, okay, they actually like us." Now Sorce is contributing to the economy: - 20 million swipes in total - Every major tech company has interviewed or hired someone from Sorce - On track to contribute to 1% of all applications in the world - Built the first version in 2-3 weeks, launched the app in 7 weeks - Team of 5 moving at Gabriella Warp Speed In this conversation: (0:00) "I didn't want to start a company. The bottleneck in AI has quietly shifted. - It's not the models. They are capable. - It's not the frameworks. They are mature. - It's not even the data, in many cases. When you want to train a model today, the first question isn't "what architecture should I use?" Instead, it's: "Where am I going to get infrastructure that actually works?" Not just GPUs but the entire stack: compute, deployment, scaling, storage. The traditional path is major cloud providers or specialized GPU clouds. Both have the same problem: they're built for enterprises with committed workloads, minimum spend requirements, contract negotiations, and involve quota approvals that take days. Even the "on-demand" options require you to piece together training, deployment, and scaling across different services. By the time you're actually training, hours, if not days, have passed. And there's a subtler cost: part of your brain is always managing infrastructure instead of thinking about the actual problem. I've been using Runpod for a while now, and it's the closest I've found to infrastructure that just disappears. I pay for the serverless solution by the second, and stop when I'm done. This sounds like it should be the default across all providers, but it isn't. For instance, when I'm prototyping, I don't need an H100. Instead, I need the flexibility to use cheaper GPUs that are actually available, where I can iterate fast and not worry about cost. An A40 at a few cents per hour is perfect for this. Then, when the approach is validated, I scale up. This matches how good engineering actually works. Running distributed training across multiple nodes for multi-GPU training usually requires significant infra work. RunPod abstracts most of this away. A lot of the advantage in AI comes from iteration speed. Infra that adds days of latency to that loop is a real cost, even if it's hard to measure. But good infra gets out of your way. It's available when you need it, invisible when you don't. In the video below, I have shown a simple model training workflow trained using PyTorch in Jupyter Lab. It runs in a dedicated PyTorch Pod hosted on Runpod, and I worked with the team to put this together for you. Find a link to start using Runpod in the replies!

Remember that paper that started with ‘Certainly, here is a possible introduction for your topic’? How did that get past peer review?! I don’t want AI tools to do my research for me. I want AI tools to speed up boring tasks that take up my time, so I can focus on the important stuff. Anara moved to a new handle (formerly Unriddle) does exactly that. Here’s how you can use it for your research. 🧵👇 #SponsoredWalkthrough One of the biggest challenges in research is time. A solid literature review takes at least 2-3 months… sometimes even longer, depending on the depth of analysis needed. Reading, organising, and synthesising information is a slow process, but it’s absolutely necessary for high-quality work. AI can help speed it up. Not by replacing your critical thinking. It’s your PhD, your ideas need to be your own—but by automating the tedious, repetitive parts of research so you can focus on deep understanding, analysis, and writing. Unlike other AI tools, Anara works with almost any document format. This is what makes it really stand out from the rest. For instance, you can upload: ✅PDFs and other word-based documents ✅Images and presentations ✅Handwritten notes, voice memos, even videos There are so many resources out there that we can learn from. You can upload everything from research papers to YouTube videos and even your own notes and scribbles. It actually understands handwriting surprisingly well! You get automatic summaries when you upload documents. The AI extracts key information immediately, giving you quick insights. It can also help you keep your documents organised. Use the Groups feature to sort and categorise your resources. Create a group for your literature review and keep these papers separate from your other projects or chapters. Tip: Overwhelmed by the number of papers in your "to-be-read" folder? Upload your papers to Anara for immediate insights on each of them, then use these to decide which ones you want to read in more detail. Quickly identify which papers are worth your time—thank me later! You can also go deeper into the papers with Anara’s chat feature. Instead of endlessly scrolling through documents to find relevant sections, just ask the AI a question based on your uploaded files. The chat provides direct answers, all with citations. ✅Suggests questions based on your prompt, helping you refine your focus ✅Everything is sourced directly from your documents. So no random AI-generated nonsense ✅Switch between different AI models to suit your needs. Some are better for summarisation, others for deeper contextual analysis It actually sticks to the sources you give it. My favourite feature is the ability to make flashcards! After you upload a document, Anara can create flashcards to help you test your understanding. Perfect for revision and retention. But… can you trust it? The problem with many AI research tools is hallucination... meaning that they make things up. Anara doesn’t do that. It reduces hallucinations by only referencing the documents you upload. Plus, it provides detailed references and hyperlinks so you can check the original source down to the exact page number. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t read the paper for yourself. It does mean that you can find what you need much faster, and then verify it with automatic citations. At the end of the day, these tools are here to help you, not replace you. If you’ve made it this far, then it’s (definitely) time to go to 👇 anara(dot)so and give it a try. Use code THEPHDPLACE20 for 20% off

someone is going to make millions with this in 2026 99% of people think this is a real human (or they fail to notice it’s an ai-generated video) but this video is completely ai-generated, including the background music. let me teach you how to create this in a few minutes follow this workflow step by step: first, create the base image of your ai influencer using nb pro. this is currently the best tool for character consistency i used a json prompt to generate the base image then i turn it into video (i will share the exact json prompt with you in this thread) now, to generate the video paste this prompt into google veo using the “frame to video” option “a man in his 40s sits on a 1980s living room couch, looking directly at the camera with a serious expression. he gestures naturally with one hand as he speaks in vintage tv broadcast aesthetic: "today is october 12th, 1985. what i'm about to tell you will sound impossible... but mark my words, these three predictions will come true. no background music, no sound effects” next, i gave it a chunk of script, i only changed the script dialogue each time and kept the rest of the prompt exactly the same using this method, you also get a little consintent voiceover here is the format for you to use: [character description] + [visual style] + [dialogue of your script for under 8 seconds] for example, for the next part dialogue; [A man in his 40s sits on a 1980s living room couch, looking directly at the camera with a serious expression. He gestures naturally with one hand as he speaks in Vintage TV broadcast aesthetic: "but mark my words, these three predictions will come true... ONE: You will carry a device no bigger than a playing card that holds ten thousand songs" ] rest things i adjusted in the editing, now how to clone the audio for these several clips we just generated? i got the best audio from the very first clip i generated using veo 3 but here is the trick: - export that clip to a video editor - detach the audio of it - duplicate it to make it 10+ seconds long - clone the voice over using elevenlabs (go to 11Labs-> click on voices-> click on "create or clone a voice" button in the top right side) (i named mine “1985 ai influencer” inside 11labs) then, finally export all your video clips into your video editor detach the audios of all clips, and export it to 11Labs to clone it with that "1985 AI Influencer" voice once you dubbed it, import it back to your editor that’s it. there are endless use cases where you can use such an ai influencer like this to promote your biz: - skincare - weight loss & nutrition - psychology and mental health - marketing and sales - predictions (like this video) - making money & career growth - dating, parenting, and so on… there are a few people already started using such ai influencers, you are just behind them, you can find their pages on instagram don't be lazy, create one such an ai influencer for your targeted biz 2026 is going to be yours

How to Build a Proper Product Page It breaks my heart every time I see someone from Brazil, making just $200 a month, spend $40 on a test ad only to get a $2 CPC. Then, they cut the ad at $35 spend with 17 clicks and 0 conversions. What’s even more frustrating is when I visit their site and see it’s a complete mess. It’s like they didn’t even try. That’s why I’m making this post. *Disclaimer: If you're building a brand, this isn’t for you. This is for testing products correctly with a website that’s good enough to convert, but if you’re serious about your brand, hire a Figma designer and a developer to get things done right. As a fun fact, I tested the following product myself (In the video below) and with just one click at a $3 CPC, I got a sale with an $80 AOV (100% CVR). I paused the ads because the CPMs hit $150. If you're interested, save this product for the future. I'll share the creatives i used to ran the product with those who comment below. "jordan, stop teaching high school kids about selling reps and getting them sued by Prada or other big brands, ruining their payment gateways, and crushing their dreams." (with 5 random people only will do it, wouldn't make sense for everyone to be ripping it). Shoutout to Adrian for this one. 🫡 Back to the important stuff: Let’s talk about creating a great product page. First off, ditch the “Buy Now” button. By using this, you miss out on the chance to increase your Average Order Value (AOV) through upsells during checkout. Instead, replace it with an “Add to Cart” button. Also, remove the quantity selector. Hardly anyone uses them on the product page, but they do in the cart. Instead, offer bundles, which you can set up using the Kaching Bundles app or your theme if it supports this feature. The cart experience is crucial, and you can optimize it using the UpCart app. Enable all its product page features so it takes over the standard Shopify cart or your theme’s cart. The built-in cart systems are outdated—they don’t allow upsells like UpCart does. Plus, UpCart directly opens the cart after a product is added, where the upsell option appears at the bottom, increasing your chances of boosting AOV. Pay attention to color schemes. Don’t use neutral colors for headers and buttons if your product features a primary color. A yellow jacket with a black header is like pizza with raspberry syrup—just doesn’t work. If your product images are gray, white, or black, match those with your headers and buttons. Otherwise, play around with colors to give your page some dynamic appeal. Bookmark this site to get color palettes that match your primary color. For exact color matches, download the "ColorZilla" extension, which gives you the exact color code of whatever is under your mouse on the screen. If your product color is #6E402A, you’ll know it and can match it perfectly with your header and buttons, creating a visually appealing contrast like Cider did here below. Right now, when some of you send me these websites, they look like government pages from the early 2000s. Next, consider the typography and button styles. For fonts, use Helvetica Regular for body text and Helvetica Bold for titles, both at a minimum size of 100%. It’s simple and effective. As for buttons, they should have a corner radius of 8px. To change these settings, go to the theme settings - typography/buttons and adjust the buttons and typography accordingly. Rounded buttons create a modern, inviting feel, while full square buttons can give off an outdated vibe. Even casinos in Vegas design their buildings with curves, ensuring that visitors always have a view angle that draws them back in—it’s all about keeping things appealing and engaging. Finally, the product page layout itself should be clean and concise. Use collapsible rows for your product descriptions. No one wants to read a novel, so keep it compact and focused. Images and videos are what sell—this is why we don’t use text-heavy images in our ads; they just bore people. Keep the description short, with enough information to inform but not overwhelm. If you need to include more features, put them in the FAQs section—that’s what they’re for. The goal is to make sure that the "Add to Cart" button is visible as soon as possible once the customer lands on the product page, without overwhelming them but providing just enough information—some key benefits, high-quality images, and buying options in the bundles. Once they hit the cart, the upsells will do their job. Remember, the three essential apps for setting this up are Loox Reviews for customer feedback (use the product widget reviews at the bottom of the page before the FAQs and the rating widget just above the title), Kaching Bundles for offering package deals, and UpCart for optimizing the cart experience. Just for the record, this is to help newcomers and guide them to something taht works, me personally i don't use free themes, but this one i created could convert easily if the product, offer and ads match well. Good luck and keep testing! 🗳🥂💸🤑

Woot woot! THE BIG DAY IS HERE. Eddie AI v2! Download it: It’s been a sprint pace to cover a marathon distance. We launched Eddie AI v1 in October last year. Thousands of new users. Lots of feature requests. Learned a ton. (Yes, Paul Graham is right: ship early and often!) Eddie AI v2 releases three big advancements. And underpinning those decisions are the learnings baked in. 1. Eddie now runs locally on Macs and Windows. Our native apps are out of beta and available to everyone. Video is large. The video files used by video professionals are even larger. No one wants to wait around uploading. Native applications make it MUCH MUCH faster to import and thus much faster to get on with editing. One of the challenges with Eddie is how do we *quickly* get the user to aha – that moment where they can see the magic of this assistant AI video editor – if it takes awhile to upload files. These native applications are a big step towards getting to aha, swiftly, and help deliver on our promise to save customers time. 2. Analyze raw footage, aka logging interviews and B-rolls. Eddie v1 only created edits. But users were asking for a step before the edit too. They want their footage logged – what happened in this shot, who said what, etc – and grouped logically with this metadata back in their video editing application. We released a test of this a month ago. Users were blown away by the accuracy of the AI, the rich descriptions, and how the metadata seamlessly is sent to their video editing application where they can find the right shot when they need. We were blown away by the usage of this feature. Logging is now updated and released to all in v2. 3. Rough cut mode. This is the big dream: Eddie is the AI assistant video editor. There’s a lot of tedious work in video editing. Eddie takes it on. And helps you get to a great story faster. Sorting through hours of interviews and finding great soundbites that can be cut together to form a coherent story is a big step toward this dream. We attempted to do this in v1. But the prompt box was too open ended. People were typing in things like “Cut me a great story” and the subjectivity of the statement led to variable results. So we re-thought the story crafting process. We added friction. YES you read that correctly. We added friction into the product that slows the customer down. BUT they get much better results, reliably. And that trade-off is well worth it. Eddie now takes a step-by-step approach with you on crafting your story. It aligns with you on the story framework and then cuts chapter by chapter with your feedback. What used to take days, now takes minutes. We spent months hacking at LLMs to make them able to provide coherent edits over a longer duration and handle a large amount of source material (aka context-window problem). It’s ready for release. Version 2.0 is here. Download Eddie at

New short course: Vibe Coding 101 with Replit! Learn to build and host applications with an AI agent in this course, built in partnership with Replit ⠕ and taught by its President Michele Catasta and Head of Developer Relations . Coding agents are changing how we write code. "Vibe coding" refers to a growing practice where you might barely look at the generated code, and instead focus on the architecture and features of your application. However, contrary to popular belief, effectively coding this way isn't done by just prompting, accepting all recommendations, and hoping for the best. It requires structuring your work, refining your prompts, and having a systematic process that lead to a more efficient and effective workflow. I code frequently using LLMs, and asking an LLM to do everything in one shot usually does not work. I'll typically take a problem, partition it into manageable modules, spend time creating prompts to specify each module, and use the model to produce the code one module at a time, and test/debug each module before moving on. A process like this is making me and many other developers faster and more efficient. In this video-only course, you’ll learn how to use Replit’s cloud environment--with an integrated code editor, package manager, and deployment tools--to build and deploy web applications. Along the way, you’ll learn strategies for working effectively with agents and improve your development skills. In detail, you’ll: - Understand principles of agentic code development such as being precise, giving agents one task at a time, making prompts specific, keeping projects tidy, starting with fresh sessions for each new feature, and how to approach debugging. - Learn how to get started with Replit, and key skills for vibe coding: Thinking, using frameworks, checkpoints, debugging, and providing context. - Create a product requirement document (PRD) and wireframe for your agent to build a prototype of a website performance analyzer. - See how to use an agent to make your prototype more visually appealing, and deploy it application others to access . - Learn to build a head-to-head national park ranking app, from a sample dataset, with voting capabilities and persistent data storage, and refine further ask the assistant to recap and explain what it built to find room for improvement and reinforce your learning. By the end of this course, you’ll have a solid foundation in building with coding agents, and a process you can use to keep vibe coding effectively. Please sign up here:

I built a self-hosted Sentry clone that runs entirely on Cloudflare Workers, and I think it showcases one of the most underrated features in the Cloudflare ecosystem: Service Bindings. Let me explain why this matters. When you have multiple Cloudflare Workers (an API, a webhook handler, a cron job), they all need common things: error tracking, authentication, rate limiting, metrics. The typical solution? External HTTP calls to third-party services. That means: - 50-200ms latency per call - Egress fees - Your data leaving your infrastructure - Another vendor to manage Service bindings let Workers call each other directly inside Cloudflare's network. No HTTP. No internet. Just internal RPC with <5ms latency. With Workers Sentinel, any Worker in my account can just point Sentry-SDK into the Service binding, and have all errors flow into one centralized dashboard, stored in Durable Objects with SQLite. No external calls. No added latency. Service bindings aren't just for error tracking. You can centralize: 🔐 Authentication — One Worker that validates tokens for all your services 📊 Metrics — Centralized collection without external observability costs 🚦 Rate Limiting — Shared counters that actually work across Workers 🚩 Feature Flags — Instant propagation, no deployment needed Think of it as building your own internal microservices mesh, but at the edge, with zero network overhead. Workers Sentinel uses two Durable Objects: - AuthState (singleton) — users, sessions, projects - ProjectState (per-project) — issues, events, stats Events are fingerprinted and grouped intelligently. The dashboard is a Vue.js app served from the same Worker. I could say i built this to learn Durable Objects or that I needed error tracking for side projects, but honestly I just need a way to show my wife why I'm sending $200/month to some guy named Claudio who apparently helps me write code. The whole thing is open source. Deploy it to your Cloudflare account, point your Sentry SDKs at it, and you're done. But more importantly: take a closer look at service bindings. They're the glue that turns a collection of Workers into an actual platform. Most Cloudflare customers I talk to aren't using them, and they're missing out. To the Sentry team: I love your work. Genuinely. Sentry is battle-tested, has incredible features, and is what you should use for anything that matters. This project is a toy. A learning exercise. A weekend hack that got slightly out of hand. Please do not trust your production errors to this dummy clone. If your startup goes down at 3 AM because Workers Sentinel missed an edge case, that's on you. I warned you. Use the real thing. But if you want to learn about Durable Objects, service bindings, and how error tracking works under the hood? Clone away. Your Workers shouldn't be islands. Connect them.

I made this product launch video over the weekend with just prompts It's all vibe coded There's something you should know, though: Like everyone else, a few days ago my timeline started getting full of videos like this when Remotion launched their Claude skill, so I decided to give it a go I was captivated by all the examples, so I started like everyone was saying: "just write a prompt" I typed the prompt, and it created an extremely bland, untasteful, stock-looking video 10 prompts in and it was not getting better. It was very, very bland. But at least it was something, so I kept going at it I ended up spending my entire weekend on this, 2-3 days of work. Only to realize my original reference videos that inspired me to get started were all fake Everyone was outright lying about their results. They all claimed "I made this with just one prompt", but it was just bait, they didn't really use Remotion or code at all, it was just a normal, human-made motion video Then you expand the X post and read the replies and they're all like "haha joke" in the comments, but their main post already got 1.5 million views and bamboozled everyone who didn't read further And this is a problem: when a viral trend happens, these posts flood your timeline, and you only realize that they're all noise and bait (and that they haven't even used the tools they claim) when you click through the post and read its comments. But 90% of people (like me, initially) just see the post on their timeline while scrolling, and assume it's all real. You don't go in to check every single post you see: you just like it, or save it for later, and carry on with your day, thinking what you saw was the real thing, and that it's all outstanding results, and that motion designers are really done And it's so anxiety inducing, because everyone is hyping their results, but most of it is just not true. I have stopped reading X lately because going in makes me so anxious, everyone is claiming extraordinary outlier results just for the views and clicks, and you feel like you're lagging behind and you're not good enough because you don't get those results So for this video I decided to actually take the tech out for a spin, and see what results I could really get out of it I used Remotion and Claude Code 4.5, but contrary to what everyone was claiming, this video was not "just a prompt". It was fully vibe coded, but it required much more than a prompt. It was multiple days worth of work Here's what I learned: - Making vibe coded videos with Remotion is ~10-20x slower than building app code. I've been wasting my Claude limits on this video - Everything takes a lot of manual work and reprompting. You often need to go frame by frame correcting tiny things - It makes very silly mistakes - Even Opus 4.5 has very very limited knowledge of spatial / visual things. It doesn't understand well z-indexes, layers, compositions, proportions, temporal coherence, etc. Claude Code feels extremely dumb when creating code for Remotion videos, which surprised me a lot, beacuse I had been mind blown by how incredibly well it worked with my Ruby on Rails SaaS codebases - You need to have some design knowledge to adjust things manually, you need to ask for exactly what you want, in the technical jargon it expects. You can't just say "make this more beautiful" or "animate this better" because it just creates slop - Right now vibe coded videos are promising, but I think I could have done this video faster just by doing it manually in After Effects. It really took that much work - If you have a creative idea for something you want to animate, it takes multiple hours of back and forth prompting to create just one or two seconds worth of **good** animation - Tip: PARAMETERIZE everything! It tends to hardcode magic numbers everywhere in the code, so if you change something earlier in the video timeline, everything else breaks. You want to essentially be creating "key frames" with code by telling it to parameterize every frame where something important happens, and calculate the rest of the keyframes based off that. This comes in handy when you need, for example, to adjust keyframes to match the music So in summary: vibe coded videos are promising, but right now it only works for very stock-looking videos unless you put in a ton of effort Maybe actually useful for 1-2 second web animations though, I'll try that next It will obviously get better, this feels like the quality of code generation in 2023-2024, you need to hold its hand and correct it at every step along the way. But even if video code generation was better, you would still need someone with motion design knowledge to at least set the creative direction, lay out the overall script and composition, etc. It's not completely hands-off unless you want slop And a word on caution: especially here on X, there's 90% hype and 10% reality, nothing is what it seems. Do not believe what you see online, people are constantly baiting and then just laughing it off in the comments
