Never a stupid question from you @carmenbott Sprinting is motor skill but highly afforded by physical qualities. So I would profile from the beginning of a journey with any athlete. It costs me very little time, is embedded into a training session and creates the language and connection with the athlete between field and gym. Why would you not measure incompetent movers? They’re the best to show video to and illustrate good vs bad. They are the easiest to empower with better competence by using running gate as a vessel to understand hinging, pelvic control, trunk control, pretension , force direction, RFD, elasticity…. Etc. There is always so much low hanging fruit and low friction in general motor skills when physical conditioning is framed from running, stopping, jumping. No doubt kids and incompetent movers get faster easily by just getting stronger. I just prefer to create the lens for physical performance from the actions that dominate the sport. Captures the imagination of the player and empowers them way faster than an fms or equivalent. Thoughts?

You get all of the intra /inter-limb sequencing, reflexive patterning and vertical forces whilst not having to deal with large eccentric forces on the hamstrings. The box height is important as a constraint to encourage rebound and height after hitting the floor. The knowledge of results (ground time/height) provides instant feedback, and is really useful for the rehabber to calibrate their execution. I need you guys to take this exercise and run with it. 😏Secrets of deceleration assessment… it’s not about the turn.🙋🏽‍♂️ For 15 years I have studied great coaches. A common thread has been that they all use intense actions as movement screens. Thus they have a great coaching eye. ❓Why intense actions? 🙋🏽‍♂️Analysis of sprinting, stoping , turning , hopping, jumping, cutting, backwards running opens a diagnostic window to assess how athletes create pretension and share load across their system. dpfaff has made this clear 🏥Be it for rehab (physios are coaches in my world) or for explosive sports. It’s the same screen, but through different lenses 🧐🤓 👀What are they looking at? 💡The same thing as you. 👀What do they SEE? 🤔Well that’s a different story. Damian Harper, PhD has set the scene for what metrics matter and Tom Dos'Santos has re-clarified the shapes that are safe vs effective for deceleration and COD. ↩️When you watch a 180 degree turn, all the focus is on the turn. Turning and being perturbed at speed is the ultimate speed ability for team sports and also a moment of tragedy for knees and hamstrings. To assess turning efficiency we use vuemotion to measure the shapes , velocities , decelerations and movement efficiency of team sports players. We create PSR reports to simplify the metrics and make it actionable for our clients across professional leagues. ⚽️🏀🏈🥎🎾🏉 📝The plant step is important but is highly impacted by the previous 1-5 steps. 🦘Just like in the Olympics. A good take off in the long jump is the result of the preceding 4-5 “steering steps”. This applies to any jumping when we are converting horizontal to vertical momentum… ❓Does it continue to happen in Braking, COD and agility… 💡These penultimate steps are critical for steering , and are how we constantly adjust our locomaotion. 📝Frans Bosch has made it clear, efficient execution of intense actions are characterised by optimal limb SWITCH and the associated reflexive postures of hip lock. 🤔What movement preference can be observed in the penultimate, antipenultimate, preantipenultimate , propreantipenultimate steps during an intense deceleration? 🤔What clues can you get about a players triple flexion ability? Do they share the load? 🤔How do they coordinate co contractions around hip and knee? Can they sit to create leverage? 🤔 What do asymmetries say about physical qualities and player confidence? 🧪When assessing deceleration for team sports we recognise the 15-0-5 for its maximal intensities but we utilise the 10-0-5 more often because we can get more reps and teaching moments out of it. The bottleneck in AI has quietly shifted. - It's not the models. They are capable. - It's not the frameworks. They are mature. - It's not even the data, in many cases. When you want to train a model today, the first question isn't "what architecture should I use?" Instead, it's: "Where am I going to get infrastructure that actually works?" Not just GPUs but the entire stack: compute, deployment, scaling, storage. The traditional path is major cloud providers or specialized GPU clouds. Both have the same problem: they're built for enterprises with committed workloads, minimum spend requirements, contract negotiations, and involve quota approvals that take days. Even the "on-demand" options require you to piece together training, deployment, and scaling across different services. By the time you're actually training, hours, if not days, have passed. And there's a subtler cost: part of your brain is always managing infrastructure instead of thinking about the actual problem. I've been using Runpod for a while now, and it's the closest I've found to infrastructure that just disappears. I pay for the serverless solution by the second, and stop when I'm done. This sounds like it should be the default across all providers, but it isn't. For instance, when I'm prototyping, I don't need an H100. Instead, I need the flexibility to use cheaper GPUs that are actually available, where I can iterate fast and not worry about cost. An A40 at a few cents per hour is perfect for this. Then, when the approach is validated, I scale up. This matches how good engineering actually works. Running distributed training across multiple nodes for multi-GPU training usually requires significant infra work. RunPod abstracts most of this away. A lot of the advantage in AI comes from iteration speed. Infra that adds days of latency to that loop is a real cost, even if it's hard to measure. But good infra gets out of your way. It's available when you need it, invisible when you don't. In the video below, I have shown a simple model training workflow trained using PyTorch in Jupyter Lab. Claude Tag has completely changed the way I do work for the last 4 months. Except… it's not Claude Tag. Anthropic only announced that a few hours ago, and I don't even have access yet. But I did build a version of it for myself which I've been using for months now. Here's how. 4 months ago, inspired by the success of OpenClaw, I wondered what would happen if I let Claude Code on its own computer 24x7. So I built a simple harness that allowed me to turn any Mac into an AI employee with Claude Code headless mode (-p). Today, I manage 3 such AI employees. It started with Luo Ji — my and my brother Piyush Agarwal's AI co-founder, running in our personal Slack. Luo does real work for us. We've been writing a 100% of the code for 3 products on Slack with Luo now. It manages our emails and gives us a little brief each day with things we need to take action on. And so much more. And it's not just the two of us. On the consulting team at Every 🪨, we run Claudie and for the editorial team, Andy. Same architecture, same Slack, months of real work. They help the teams with work related to project management, chief-of-staff work, data hygiene, building decks, writing first drafts, even browsing X on their own account for AI updates. So it's mindblowing to see that Anthropic landed on the exact same architecture I did. Claude Tag is an AI employee that lives in your Slack workspace and does work autonomously. Anthropic says they've been running it internally for the better part of this year — opening PRs, doing real work. And so have I. So has my whole team. The architectural decisions Anthropic baked into Claude Tag are the ones we arrived at too: - Built on Claude Code - Uses its own accounts - A separate employee per team - Slack as the interface This is the future of work, and I've been living it for months. How to Build a Proper Product Page It breaks my heart every time I see someone from Brazil, making just $200 a month, spend $40 on a test ad only to get a $2 CPC. Then, they cut the ad at $35 spend with 17 clicks and 0 conversions. What’s even more frustrating is when I visit their site and see it’s a complete mess. It’s like they didn’t even try. That’s why I’m making this post. *Disclaimer: If you're building a brand, this isn’t for you. This is for testing products correctly with a website that’s good enough to convert, but if you’re serious about your brand, hire a Figma designer and a developer to get things done right. As a fun fact, I tested the following product myself (In the video below) and with just one click at a $3 CPC, I got a sale with an $80 AOV (100% CVR). I paused the ads because the CPMs hit $150. If you're interested, save this product for the future. I'll share the creatives i used to ran the product with those who comment below. "jordan, stop teaching high school kids about selling reps and getting them sued by Prada or other big brands, ruining their payment gateways, and crushing their dreams." The built-in cart systems are outdated—they don’t allow upsells like UpCart does. Plus, UpCart directly opens the cart after a product is added, where the upsell option appears at the bottom, increasing your chances of boosting AOV. Pay attention to color schemes. Don’t use neutral colors for headers and buttons if your product features a primary color. A yellow jacket with a black header is like pizza with raspberry syrup—just doesn’t work. COACHES ONLY: THIS IS WHY COACHING EXPERIENCE MATTERS This post is primarily for coaches. Before I get into my own analysis, I want to give Venom Reacts (VENOM 😈) full credit for the film breakdown that prompted this post. He did an excellent job slowing the possession down, identifying where the defensive action actually breaks, and explaining why the final matchup at the rim does not tell the whole story. If you have not watched his video yet, watch it first. His explanation is worth your time. What I want to add is another coaching perspective. If you have spent years completing USA Basketball education, PGC training, NABC development, certification requirements, clinics, continuing education, film study and the thousand other things serious coaches do to become better teachers of the game, watch this possession and tell me what you see. Because I see a coaching problem. Mercedes Russell navigates the low-post screen incorrectly. She goes over it when the coverage requires her to get underneath. That single mistake changes the geometry of the possession and leaves Caitlin Clark forced into an emergency switch against a center at the rim. By then, the defense is already compromised. Clark did not create the mismatch. She inherited it. Could Clark have handled the emergency differently? Coaches can debate that. Maybe there is a late communication, front, dig, foul or emergency rotation January wanted. But none of those possibilities change the first breakdown. Russell loses the coverage. Clark is left trying to survive it. Then watch the timeout. Briann January appears to direct an extremely animated correction toward Clark. Clark clearly disagrees. Stephanie White stands between them and allows the exchange to continue. Now forget personalities for a moment and evaluate this strictly as coaches. What are we trying to accomplish during that timeout? Indiana is protecting a double-digit lead with roughly four minutes remaining. Clark is having a career-level night. This is closing time. My timeout priorities are clock, score, personnel, foul situation, remaining timeouts, offensive organization, defensive coverage, anticipated counters and making absolutely certain my five players leave that huddle composed and connected. The previous possession gets corrected only to the extent necessary to prevent it from happening again: Mercedes, get under it. Caitlin, stay home unless she gets caught. Communicate it. Next play. That takes seconds. Everything else belongs in film. And even if Clark had been completely responsible for the breakdown... I don't believe she was... I still cannot understand using precious late-game timeout bandwidth to publicly unload on a player who is carrying your offense and playing one of the best games of her season. Experienced coaches understand the difference between correction and emotional discharge. We also understand the difference between being a great defender and teaching great team defense. Briann January was an outstanding individual defensive player. Seven All-Defensive selections deserve respect. But playing credentials are not coaching credentials. Her publicly documented coaching résumé remains remarkably thin for the responsibility she now carries: brief college assistant experience while still playing, a long gap, two seasons under Stephanie White in Connecticut, one G League season, and back to White in Indiana. No head-coaching experience. No associate head-coaching experience. No independently established defensive program. And I have found no publicly documented USA Basketball, PGC, NABC or comparable formal coaching credential attached to her résumé. That does not prove she has never completed additional training. It does raise a fair question experienced coaches will immediately understand: Where was the apprenticeship that taught the transition from elite individual defender to elite teacher of five-player defense? Because those are very different jobs. A great defender can solve problems with athleticism, anticipation, toughness and individual technique. A defensive coach has to diagnose the first breakdown, establish five-player rules, teach screen navigation, define switch triggers, organize help behind the action and communicate corrections in a way players can immediately execute. That is why this possession bothers me. It is not because a coach raised her voice. It is because the film appears to show the coach directing the most intense correction at the player who was cleaning up somebody else's mistake. Coaches: watch the play, not the personalities. Woot woot! THE BIG DAY IS HERE. Eddie AI v2! Download it: It’s been a sprint pace to cover a marathon distance. We launched Eddie AI v1 in October last year. Thousands of new users. Lots of feature requests. Learned a ton. (Yes, Paul Graham is right: ship early and often!) Eddie AI v2 releases three big advancements. And underpinning those decisions are the learnings baked in. 1. Eddie now runs locally on Macs and Windows. Our native apps are out of beta and available to everyone. Video is large. The video files used by video professionals are even larger. No one wants to wait around uploading. Native applications make it MUCH MUCH faster to import and thus much faster to get on with editing. One of the challenges with Eddie is how do we *quickly* get the user to aha – that moment where they can see the magic of this assistant AI video editor – if it takes awhile to upload files. These native applications are a big step towards getting to aha, swiftly, and help deliver on our promise to save customers time. 2. Analyze raw footage, aka logging interviews and B-rolls. Eddie v1 only created edits. But users were asking for a step before the edit too. They want their footage logged – what happened in this shot, who said what, etc – and grouped logically with this metadata back in their video editing application. We released a test of this a month ago. Users were blown away by the accuracy of the AI, the rich descriptions, and how the metadata seamlessly is sent to their video editing application where they can find the right shot when they need. We were blown away by the usage of this feature. Logging is now updated and released to all in v2. 3. Rough cut mode. This is the big dream: Eddie is the AI assistant video editor. There’s a lot of tedious work in video editing. Eddie takes it on. And helps you get to a great story faster. Sorting through hours of interviews and finding great soundbites that can be cut together to form a coherent story is a big step toward this dream. We attempted to do this in v1. But the prompt box was too open ended. People were typing in things like “Cut me a great story” and the subjectivity of the statement led to variable results. So we re-thought the story crafting process. We added friction. YES you read that correctly. We added friction into the product that slows the customer down. BUT they get much better results, reliably. And that trade-off is well worth it. Eddie now takes a step-by-step approach with you on crafting your story. It aligns with you on the story framework and then cuts chapter by chapter with your feedback. What used to take days, now takes minutes. Woot woot! THE BIG DAY IS HERE. Eddie AI v2! Download it: It’s been a sprint pace to cover a marathon distance. We launched Eddie AI v1 in October last year. Thousands of new users. Lots of feature requests. Learned a ton. (Yes, Paul Graham is right: ship early and often!) Eddie AI v2 releases three big advancements. And underpinning those decisions are the learnings baked in. 1. Eddie now runs locally on Macs and Windows. Our native apps are out of beta and available to everyone. Video is large. The video files used by video professionals are even larger. No one wants to wait around uploading. Native applications make it MUCH MUCH faster to import and thus much faster to get on with editing. One of the challenges with Eddie is how do we *quickly* get the user to aha – that moment where they can see the magic of this assistant AI video editor – if it takes awhile to upload files. These native applications are a big step towards getting to aha, swiftly, and help deliver on our promise to save customers time. 2. Analyze raw footage, aka logging interviews and B-rolls. Eddie v1 only created edits. But users were asking for a step before the edit too. They want their footage logged – what happened in this shot, who said what, etc – and grouped logically with this metadata back in their video editing application. We released a test of this a month ago. Users were blown away by the accuracy of the AI, the rich descriptions, and how the metadata seamlessly is sent to their video editing application where they can find the right shot when they need. We were blown away by the usage of this feature. Logging is now updated and released to all in v2. 3. Rough cut mode. This is the big dream: Eddie is the AI assistant video editor. There’s a lot of tedious work in video editing. Eddie takes it on. And helps you get to a great story faster. Sorting through hours of interviews and finding great soundbites that can be cut together to form a coherent story is a big step toward this dream. We attempted to do this in v1. But the prompt box was too open ended. People were typing in things like “Cut me a great story” and the subjectivity of the statement led to variable results. So we re-thought the story crafting process. We added friction. YES you read that correctly. We added friction into the product that slows the customer down. BUT they get much better results, reliably. And that trade-off is well worth it. Eddie now takes a step-by-step approach with you on crafting your story. It aligns with you on the story framework and then cuts chapter by chapter with your feedback. What used to take days, now takes minutes. New short course: Vibe Coding 101 with Replit! Learn to build and host applications with an AI agent in this course, built in partnership with Replit ⠕ and taught by its President Michele Catasta and Head of Developer Relations . Coding agents are changing how we write code. "Vibe coding" refers to a growing practice where you might barely look at the generated code, and instead focus on the architecture and features of your application. However, contrary to popular belief, effectively coding this way isn't done by just prompting, accepting all recommendations, and hoping for the best. The disgustingly simple framework behind my best performing thumbnails (1.7M, 1M views) This is the exact method I used for thumbnails on my best performing videos I call it the "analyze-recreate" method: 1. Search YouTube for your video title 2. Find the top performing video 3. Copy their thumbnail image 4. Send it to Claude/GPT with this prompt (steal this): ---- You are a YouTube thumbnail visual analysis expert. Analyze only what is visible in the provided thumbnail. Do not infer identities, brands, context, or any off-frame elements. Output must be plaintext and under 1800 characters. Keep it concise and directly usable for recreating a similar image. Important: Do NOT reference, describe, paraphrase, or characterize any text, typography, logos, watermarks, UI, arrows, icons, or other graphic design overlays. Focus only on the underlying photographic/illustrative scene and its composition. Cover exactly these sections: 1. Overall Style: mood, tone, realism level, and artistic approach (photo, 3D, illustration, composite). 2. Color Palette: 2–3 dominant colors and where they appear (brief; no hex). 3. Composition: camera angle/shot type (close/medium/wide), depth (foreground/mid/background), focal point, balance, and approximate % of frame occupied by each main scene element. 4. AI creates 5 thumbnails based on a "thumbnail design language" based on your channel's 15 best thumbnails So far so good, but this is more experimental, and mostly to save time while I focus on new channels I built autotube to automate the entire YouTube workflow: thumbnails, scripts, rendering, everything.
