Benjamin Song was convicted to 100 years in federal prison for attempted murder after opening fire and hitting an officer at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado. Benjamin Song, who shot and wounded a police officer during a July 4th protest at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, was sentenced to 100 years in prison today. He was convicted of attempted murder back in March after prosecutors proved he opened fire on the officer during the clash. Seven other protesters tied to the same Antifa group received sentences ranging from 30 to 70 years. The judge came down hard on the entire crew and for once we have a major victory against this terrorist organization.

Body cam footage just dropped from the Antifa cell that attacked the Alvarado, Texas ICE facility. One of them opened fire on an officer from the woods and shot him in the neck. The officer was released from the hospital shortly after. A total of 16 Antifa members were arrested. Two of them are now facing terrorism charges. Authorities recovered two AR-15 rifles, 12 sets of body armor, and two cellphones hidden in a Faraday bag. The shooter who bought four of the guns recovered was a former US Marine Corps Reservist. The rifle he used had a binary trigger for rapid fire. On March 13, 2026, nine defendants were convicted by a Texas jury of "providing support to terrorists" and one was convicted of the "attempted murder of a police officer." They will be sentenced on June 18, 2026.

The maximum sentences prosecutors sought in the case stand in stark contrast to the treatment of January 6 U.S. Capitol insurrectionists, says Sufia Khalid, who represented one of the defendants, Maricela Rueda. Rueda has been sentenced to 70 years in prison for attending the demonstration, while "the average sentence in the Capitol riots, which had far more serious conduct than the Prairieland Nine defendants, was 26 months."
