⭕️ China Renews Call at UN Security Council for Full Israeli Withdrawal from Lebanon China’s representative to the UN Security Council renewed Beijing’s demand for an immediate and complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory at an emergency session today. ▪️ “The sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Lebanon must be respected, and Israel must immediately and completely withdraw from Lebanese territory” ▪️ China urged countries with influence over the parties to “play an active role in helping to achieve a ceasefire as soon as possible” ▪️ Beijing said it “is ready to cooperate with all parties to calm the situation between Lebanon and Israel and restore peace and stability to the region” The emergency session was requested by France and backed by Russia, China, the UK, Denmark, Greece, Latvia, and Colombia. The remarks are consistent with China’s stated position at the Security Council throughout the conflict. China has previously warned that Israel’s expansion of ground operations and its so-called “buffer zone” risks further prolonging and escalating the conflict, and that “Lebanon must not become another Gaza.”

Putin once again offered Russian oil to Europe The Russian dictator said Moscow is ready to resume oil and gas supplies to Europe. According to him, all that is needed from European countries is a “signal.” The statement comes amid the situation in the Middle East. The Kremlin claims that the war around Iran and the risk of blocking the Strait of Hormuz could create serious problems for oil supplies from the Persian Gulf. This has already pushed global prices upward. Putin said that in such conditions the market looks for “reliable suppliers,” hinting that Russia is ready to fill that role.

But that doesn't mean that Europe and European countries have to be aside from these efforts. This is about European security and future. And Europe has to take on more responsibility for European security, including with solving the situation in Ukraine.
