From sitting 88 mph T92 to 95-96 mph T97 in 1.5 years 🤯 When Tread athlete Brett Erwin first started with us, he had an average fastball of 88, and now about 1.5 years later here he is throwing 95-96 touching 97 MPH! So how exactly did he do it? An Athlete update from Austin Roark 🔥 Brett had a great starting point in his delivery. There weren't any glaring issues mechanically that we needed to overhaul. The main focus was to improve the initial move/posture out of leg lift to allow himself to be in a better position into landing. Another big constraint that we had while working together was the environment that we were throwing in. Brett, for the majority of the off-season, was throwing off of a grassy hill in the middle of the park into a 9 pocket. Originally, the throws were around 86 to 88, but we eventually got up to 90-91 in that specific environment. It was a matter of time before we got on an actual mound against hitters to start seeing some better numbers show up, which eventually happened. We utilized a lot of 1 MPH bullpens to focus on the idea of “throwing hard easy” which ultimately raised the floor and he was starting to really understand how his body needed to move. Once I felt like we were in a good spot mechanically, we added in a lot more intent work to get the output we wanted! The biggest factor in all of this is that Brett is a fantastic communicator. He consistently scheduled calls, sent over video, and asked a lot of great quality questions along the way. It takes a special kind of athlete to make a lot of progress remotely and to get the most out of remote training, and Brett has definitely made the most out of the opportunity! #TreadFam

The LA Clippers front office is in total disarray. With Steve Ballmer suspended, Lawrence Frank banned, and the franchise stripped of five draft picks over the Kawhi Leonard cap circumvention investigation, the Lakers have a golden opportunity. Rob Pelinka needs to call across town and capitalize on their crisis. It is time to raid Intuit Dome for Derrick Jones Jr. Here is why Derrick Jones Jr could be the missing piece at the 4 spot next to Walker Kessler, Luka Dončić, and Austin Reaves. The Analytics: Derrick Jones Jr is not just a high-flying vertical athlete. He is one of the premier bargains in the NBA. •DARKO Contract Ledger: Making $10.0M this season, DARKO projects his actual value at $23.1M. That gives him a +$13.1M surplus value (+131% ROI) after posting a +$18.0M surplus (+189% ROI) last season. •RAPM Impact: According to NBA RAPM data, the Clippers were +4.6 points per 100 possessions better with him on the court. •Cleaning The Glass: His overall differential ranked in the 83rd percentile (+5.7). •Low-Usage Efficiency: He posted an eFG% impact in the 83rd percentile (+1.8%) and ranked in the 92nd percentile in turnover reduction (-1.9%). Basically, DJJ takes good shots and hardly makes mistakes. The Fit Next to Luka, Reaves, and Kessler With Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves orchestrating the offense and Walker Kessler anchoring the paint, the Lakers do not need another ball-dominant scorer. They need point of attack length, defensive switching, and baseline cutting. Defensive metrics show Derrick Jones Jr holding opponents to a -2.2 points per possession impact (71st percentile). Pairing his seven-foot wingspan with Kessler inside builds an elite defensive frontcourt, while his vertical rim pressure creates spacing for Luka to manipulate defenses. DJJ operated as a consistent lob threat during their time together on the Mavs. Why the Clippers would Accept The Clippers are asset starved after losing five draft picks from 2029 through 2033. Their future pipeline is dependent on the successes and failures of the Pacers and Raptors. The interim leadership group needs one thing: draft capital. Offering matching filler paired with all 3 Lakers second-round draft picks gives them some draft assets to rebuild. The Lakers have a rare window to strike. Make the call. Dear J.K. Rowling, Your tweet on Imane Khelif is a masterclass in sensationalism and misinformation, dressed up in a veneer of moral righteousness. It is nothing short of appalling to see you leveraging your platform to propagate such baseless and harmful narratives. Let's dissect your claims with the precision they deserve, shall we? You posit that Khelif represents a "new men’s rights movement," protected by a "misogynist sporting establishment." This, Ms. Rowling, is not only a gross mischaracterization but a pernicious distortion of reality. Imane Khelif, a dedicated athlete, has faced and overcome substantial barriers, including dubious disqualifications based on contested gender tests. These tests, as recent events have shown, often lack scientific consensus and disproportionately target athletes from marginalized backgrounds [oai_citation:1,Two female boxers meet Paris Olympics rules after gender test issue at world championships, IOC says. To frame her reinstatement as a victory for misogyny is not just erroneous but laughably ironic. The real misogyny lies in the attempts to strip women like Khelif of their achievements and identities based on archaic and flawed notions of gender. Your tweet implies a gleeful malice in Khelif's demeanor—a smirk that supposedly signifies her complicity in a grand patriarchal scheme. Yet, any discerning individual can see that this interpretation is as fanciful as the plot of a mediocre fantasy novel. The crux of your argument—that Khelif's participation shatters the ambitions of her opponents—ignores the essence of competitive sports. Boxing, like any sport, is about resilience, skill, and the ability to face challenges head-on. Imane Khelif's presence in the ring does not diminish her opponents; rather, it exemplifies the diversity and strength inherent in women’s sports. To suggest otherwise is to undermine the very spirit of athletic competition. Your rhetoric about a "misogynist sporting establishment" conveniently ignores the actual misogyny Khelif has faced. The backlash, the disqualification, the relentless scrutiny—these are the real impediments born of a patriarchal system that struggles to accept women who do not fit into its narrow definitions. By attacking Khelif, you are not championing women's rights; you are perpetuating the very biases you claim to oppose. Humor me, Ms. Rowling: how does vilifying a woman who has met every imposed criterion, who stands resilient in the face of baseless allegations, advance the cause of feminism? It does not. It regresses it. Your crusade, ostensibly for the protection of women, becomes a vehicle for exclusion and prejudice when it targets those who are already marginalized. In closing, let me remind you that true feminism is about inclusion, understanding, and the dismantling of all forms of discrimination. It is not about casting stones from ivory towers. Imane Khelif deserves our respect and support, not the vitriolic condemnation of someone who should know better. V. C.

Standing up for female sports in Toronto gets you fined Rebel News discovered on Tuesday evening — the hard way — that speaking out against radical transgenderism is apparently against the law in Toronto. And yes, you will be punished by the Toronto Police Service if you dare to do so. Here’s the skinny: Sophie Cunningham and the Indiana Fever were at the Scotiabank Arena to play the Toronto Tempo. Cunningham is the brave athlete who has spoken out against the spectre of male basketball players joining WNBA. This of course would destroy the WNBA. Yes, the W in WNBA stands for Women’s. But here’s the crux of the matter: when the WNBA was incorporated in 1996, a woman was someone who was born as a biological female. Not a confused dude who “thinks” he’s a woman. In any event, Rebel News went down to Scotiabank Arena with our big, beautiful billboard truck. We were broadcasting messages provided by our friends at the Canadian Women’s Sex-Based Rights organization, a.k.a., CAWSBAR. CAWSBAR wants to keep female sports female. We know: shockers! But apparently this messaging is tantamount to hate speech in certain circles. Including the woefully woke brass running the Toronto Police Service. And so it was that within minutes of our arrival at Scotiabank Arena, our truck was swarmed by seven police officers. Yes, there’s a record crimewave in Toronto right now. But Chief Myron Demkiw is more concerned with so-called thought crimes than, you know, actual crime. Not only did we receive hundreds of dollars in bogus fines, but Toronto’s Thought Police said we needed a permit to display the messaging and they demanded we turn off our billboards. That’s insane! There are hundreds of billboards in Toronto; there are even dozens of billboard trucks like ours criss-crossing the mean streets of Hogtown. But our truck is the problem? Seriously? Oh, and this was not a one-off. A few weeks ago, the Toronto Police pulled over our truck. What a coincidence: the truck was displaying the same pro-female messaging that we were displaying last Tuesday. At least there were no tickets issued that time. But the question arises, who is behind this harassment? Then again, the Toronto Police are all-in when it comes to embracing transgenderism. Do you know that all the cops have to take transgender training? And that they have to pass the test? Did you know that the Toronto Police have a transgender police cruiser and that this vehicle gives transgenders free rides? Bottom line: Toronto Police are more concerned with censorship than enforcing the law. And so it was that our trucker driver, Mark, was slapped with two $615 fines totalling $1,230! But we’re not bending the knee to this outrageous censorship via law enforcement. We’ve hired top lawyer Leora Shemesh. She’s going to fight these bogus tickets in court. By the way, this is not simply a Rebel News issue — it’s about setting a precedent that police aren’t allowed to bully people who are fighting to protect women’s sports against invading males. Can you help us fight this latest free-speech battle? The cops want us to pay up, shut up, and go away. Not a chance. We’re going to fight these fines. But we need your help. Please go to and if you’re able to, kindly make a donation. REPORT by David Menzies:

I wanted to explain to the broader transgender community what happened that ultimately made me leave the "true trans" HBS social circle. Some people have expressed interest in hearing this story, and I do think it's worth discussing because of the social and group psychology dynamics that were at play. That said, this will be as far as I go in publicly discussing the situation. Where to start? The reality is that this eventually became a situation where it was Brianna Wu, Marzi, Allysa, and Willow versus myself. The events leading up to the actual breaking point are important. After Willow broke up with me, she told me that I was not the ideal version of a transsexual. In particular, she told me that, using the antiquated HBS scale, I wasn't a Transsexual VI, but more like a IV or V. The reasoning largely came down to the fact that I had different opinions from the rest of the group on issues such as stealth. The rest of the group found my views offensive. This opened the door to what I came to understand as legitimacy testing. This isn't unique to trans spaces either. It involved the systematic questioning of virtually every aspect of my life: my transition, my dysphoria, how I grew up, my experiences, and what I value today. To give you an idea of how extreme it became, Marzi seriously asked me whether I had only pursued SRS to satisfy a sexual fetish. This was after learning that I had been capable of having sex prior to transition. Apparently, that fact alone was enough to cast suspicion on my entire transition history. This legitimacy testing continued for roughly two and a half weeks. Every day. For most of the day. It became increasingly distressing and isolating. And remember, at this point, I was emotionally dependent on these people. The day everything finally came to a head started with a discussion about transgender women in sports. Brianna entered the group chat and asked if any of us would be willing to debate Blaire White on the issue. People immediately began sharing their positions. As the only former NCAA athlete in the group, I chimed in and stated that I supported transgender women participating in women's sports and that it was not an issue I was willing to move on. That triggered a cascade of responses. I was repeatedly told that the issue was insignificant, that it only affected a tiny number of people, and that sports were ultimately just a hobby. I pushed back. I tried explaining that NCAA athletes are not hobbyists. Their sport is often their entire life. They spend years training, watching film, practicing, traveling, competing, and structuring their entire identity around performance. I also tried explaining that sports had been the medium through which I survived to adulthood. School was not safe for me. Home was not safe for me. The track was. Track and field was the one place in my life where I felt safe, valued, and understood. My relationship with sports was deeply personal. Yet every time I tried explaining this, I was met with the same response: "It's just a hobby." They genuinely did not seem to understand. Eventually, I decided to show them a video of Yaroslava Mahuchikh breaking the women's high jump world record. I wanted them to see what elite competition actually looks like. I wanted them to understand the pressure, the emotion, the adrenaline, and what it means to dedicate your life to something. High jump was my best event. I explained how, at the end of a meet, all eyes are on you. Entire stadiums can clap rhythmically to help carry you over the bar. The pressure is immense. And honestly? I lived for that feeling. So I showed them the video. They dismissed it entirely. Then Brianna commented that when she was in high school, she was simply focused on fitting in and being one of the girls. Immediately afterward, Marzi told me that being a competitive athlete was "male-coded." That was my wake-up call. In that moment, I suddenly snapped out of everything. I realized what had been happening to me psychologically. I realized this was no longer a discussion. This was an attempt to socially discipline me into conformity. It was another attempt to reshape my views and my identity to fit within the group's expectations. For the first time, they had collided with something I was unwilling to surrender. An immovable force had met an immovable object. Sports were not just a hobby to me. Track and field helped me survive. It shaped my values. It shaped my sense of pride in myself. It shaped who I became as a person. Those experiences and values were not something I was willing to compromise on. The "male-coded" comment affected me more deeply than I can adequately explain. By that point, I had become so emotionally dependent on these people that comments like that carried the implicit message that I did not belong. That I was an outsider. That I was somehow less of a woman. The experience left me feeling suicidal. I drove to my local riverfront park to ground myself and reflect on how I had ended up in that position. The following day, I removed myself from the group entirely and publicly called out what had happened. Willow attempted to reframe my lived experiences in private messages. Brianna attempted to downplay the situation and position herself as a motherly or managerial figure trying to bring everyone back together. I wanted no part of it. The weeks of legitimacy testing, the constant questioning of my transition, the attacks on a core part of my identity, and the repeated implication that I was somehow a man ultimately took a tremendous toll on me. Unfortunately, my therapist and psychiatrist believe it contributed to what has become a trauma response. Today, I struggle at times with tunnel vision, sensory overload, shaking, racing thoughts, a racing heart, and panic attacks. I'm working closely with my care team to recover and return to equilibrium. I share this story because I think it highlights how powerful social and group dynamics can be. No one sat me down and brainwashed me. What happened was far more subtle. When your entire social world becomes concentrated in one place, the pressure to conform can become overwhelming. It can make you doubt your own judgment. It can make you question your own experiences. And if left unchecked, it can leave very real psychological scars. This will be the last time I discuss the inner workings of that group publicly. I will simply note that many neutral observers witnessed these events unfold in real time and have since independently acknowledged that they occurred. Also, please, for the sake of my health, please don't try to liken my experiences to leopards. I'm aware of what it looks like, but that's not helpful to me at this moment. So, I beg you, please reserve that kind of talk. Bonus: The video that I attempted to show them. Please watch it. It gives me tears of joy for the athlete in question. It's something we all live for to experience. And she did it at the highest level.

Game being hurt about that Super Bowl still makes sense if you sit with how the night was built‼️. Dr. Dre puts on the biggest hip-hop halftime in Super Bowl history: Snoop, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick, and then 50 Cent swinging in upside down for “In Da Club.” It was sold as an L.A. homecoming‼️. The city was on the field‼️. Compton was on the field‼️. Aftermath’s whole lineage was on the field‼️. Except one of Dre’s actual Compton products wasn’t⁉️. Game said it out loud a few months later on *I Am Athlete*‼️. He was hurt‼️. Not “the culture won” Instagram caption he posted right after the show‼️. Hurt‼️. He pointed at the obvious: Eminem is not from L.A. 50 is not from L.A. If it had been a Detroit Super Bowl or a New York Super Bowl, L.A. niggas would not have been invited just because they were legends‼️. The Rams were playing‼️. The stadium was in Inglewood‼️. Dre produced it‼️. And the call never came‼️. He even said YG should have been there too‼️. He called himself not a “safe” artist‼️. That part tracks with how Game has always moved‼️. The 50 Cent piece is the part that stings extra‼️. Eminem made sure 50 was on that stage‼️. That’s not rumor — 50 and people around the camp have said it for years‼️. Em wasn’t going to let his guy get left off Dre’s night‼️. Fair‼️. Loyalty‼️. Same energy Game has always claimed he gives people‼️. The difference is nobody in that circle fought to put Game on the bill‼️. Twelve minutes, Snoop later said‼️. Politics, Game said. Either way, the Compton artist who actually came up under Dre on *The Documentary* watched two outsiders and the younger Compton guy who inherited the “voice of the city” slot get the moment‼️. That’s where the Kendrick part lives‼️. It’s not that Game and Kendrick ever had a public war in 2022‼️. It’s that Kendrick was the other Compton name Dre and the NFL were comfortable putting next to Dre and Snoop‼️. Game has said he put Kendrick on early mixtapes, took him on tour, showed love when it was still a come-up‼️. Then years later he can’t get him on the phone, but he can get Drake‼️. That’s the current documentary-era complaint‼️. The Super Bowl snub sits underneath it like old scar tissue‼️. Same city, same Dre orbit, same “who gets to represent L.A. on the biggest stage” question — and Game wasn’t the answer they picked‼️. He has spent 2026 saying he doesn’t have a problem with the Boogeyman and the Boogeyman doesn’t have a problem with him‼️. He also put Drake on *The Documentary III*, rapped about not having to pick sides, and still couldn’t resist the “they say I’m beefing with Kendrick, how the fuck do that sound⁉️” line. That’s Game‼️. He will deny the beef while listing every reason the distance exists‼️. Resentment doesn’t always come out as a diss record the next week‼️. Sometimes it sits for four years until the next album cycle, the next Drake feature, and the next time somebody asks why the original Compton Aftermath artist wasn’t standing on that white house set while Em made sure 50 got his “In Da Club” moment‼️. Game watched it happen in his city‼️. He said he was hurt‼️. The rest is just whether he ever stopped being hurt‼️. The future will tell‼️
