Lmao they aren’t trading DJJ for second round picks

Why not? Who's trading a first for an expiring DJJ?

Almost any team can top this offer. Lots of teams have extra 1sts they can literally set on fire. Or a young prospect to send in return. Lakers fans always post idiotic trades where they somehow believe 28 other GMs are on vacation.m and the Lakers get good stuff in exchange for garbage. The Luka trade was a miracle event. Exception dies not make the rule.

Anything more than pure filler. The guy is on a good contract which makes him very valuable in current nba. I would expect a young talent plus a first rounder would get them considering

The Lakers have way less picks to trade than the Clippers. Lakers went all in on this big 3 with 2/3 being poor to average defenders, 0 tradeable firsts for the next 7 years! DJJ is also worth a mid to late first so you keep your seconds.

Bronny and Dalton for DJJ works with the cap. Maybe the Clippers can lure LeBron back to LA next year. Clips can hire Rich Paul to run the team for this year.

I'd be willing to do that with the 3 2nds and Hardy as the salary. It will cost the Lakers about 6.6m in luxury tax.

The Lakers potential rotation now. Guards. Luka Doncic. Austin Reaves. Collin Sexton. Jaden Hardy. Cameron Carr. Forwards. Quentin Grimes. Sandro Mamukelashvili. Ziaire Williams. Adou Thiero. Jake LaRavia. Centers. Walker Kessler. Kevin Looney. Outside looking in. Bronny James probably following LeBron. Jarred Vanderbilt. And Dalton Knecht. In talks. Jonathan Kuminga forward. Looking at the rotation this team is a fantastic transition from the athletically challenged team the Lakers had last season. Also last seasons team had only two defensive specialists in Marcus Smart and Jarred Vanderbilt but the latters offense makes him unlikely to get a chance with JJ Redick. This team has rangy defenders in line with the direction the league is headed. Ziaire Williams being top 20 in the NBA in some advanced defensive stats. Grimes is the archetypical 3 and D wing with emphasis on poa duties. Cameron Carr and Adou Thiero are prospects showing tremendous promise on the defensive end. All these defenders are young and athletic. Zeroing in on Ziaire, he's a 6-foot-8 wing with a 6-foot-10 wingspan. Ideally, he fits into our power forward spot with his length and ability to deter shots at the rim as a forward. His 3-point shooting stats look bad in a vacuum but he's shown better efficiency shooting the three over the past 3 seasons. Looking at his shot mechanics below, you can see his shit release point is good, his follow-through is good as well. He can become an elite shooter especially with two of the league's best playmakers in his backcourt. Also, he can catch lobs too. Nice. Hats off to the tremendous work Rob Pelinka has done this summer rebuilding this team. Having this flexibility of wing defenders alongside an elite rim protector in Kessler honestly makes me very bullish on the Lakers. This is a 57 win team barring any major injuries. There is top 5 offense and top 10 defensive potential. Rob Pelinka has done an excellent job dealing and wheeling like a GM. I have been hard on him in the past for being too passive and not making moves on the margin. The last 14 months have been so much better from him.

The Walker Kessler criticism is a perfect example of people confusing contract talk with basketball evaluation. I’ve seen a lot of clueless takes from guys who are supposed to be basketball experts they call themselves “writers & analysts”.. accounts like Damien Peters Nathan Grubel Sam Quinn These are the people who are driving NBA discourse and writing the narratives, which then the casual fans use source of truth. Can you question the money/assets? Sure. That’s fair. But when people start naming 10–15 centers they’d rather have and acting like Kessler is just some overpaid big body, that’s where I have to ask, are we watching the same player? Because on film, Kessler is a legitimate defensive anchor. He has strong post defense, absorbs contact well, keeps his chest square, and contests with verticality instead of constantly reaching. He plays with his hands high, makes himself huge at the rim, and has great timing as a shot blocker. What stands out most is his defensive IQ. He reads pick-and-roll actions well, moves his feet better than people give him credit for, and can stay attached long enough against smaller forwards/guards to recover back into the play. He tracks the ball, doesn’t quit on possessions, and gives you real chase-down/rim protection value. And in the clip, some of the same players people are listing over him are the ones he’s meeting at the rim. KAT Wemby Zubac Jokic Embiid Jarrett Allen Sabonis Naz Reid Offensively, he is not just standing in the dunker spot doing nothing. He runs the floor, fills the correct lanes, creates easy transition buckets, understands high P&R spacing, has good touch around the basket, great footwork in the post, has a strong drop step, creates contact in the post creating space for easy points, crashes the offensive glass, and has shown enough shooting touch to at least make defenses think. He’s not perfect. He still has areas to grow. But pretending he can’t play, or that he’s just another replaceable center, is lazy analysis. The Lakers didn’t just pay for what he is today. They paid for a 24-year-old defensive anchor with size, mobility, rim protection, rebounding, effort, and upside next to Luka. He is the exact type of player Lakers need. Luka is going to help elevate his game even more. Kessler will be an All Star within the next season or two!

Bobi Klintman has the potential to be a big time riser as we get closer to the 2023 NBA Draft! Bobi Klintman 5.3 PTS 4.5 REB .8 AST .6 BLK .5 STL 40.7 FG% 36.8 3PT% 74.3 FT% in (33 games) ▫️ The ‘3-D’ prototype in the NBA is likely what Bobi’s role will be in the NBA as a rookie. The combination of his size (6’10’), his shooting form, and shooting efficiency from downtown (36.8 3PT% on 2.3 attempts/game) 73rd percentile on spot-ups is more than intriguing. ▫️On the defensive side, Klintman slides his feet well, keeps his hands active, and poses as a threat to defenses due to his versatility in being able to guard multiple positions effectively. He ranks in the 88th percentile in defending shots within 17 feet, 83rd percentile in perimeter defense (long 3PTs), 84th percentile per jump shot possessions, and the 79th percentile on all field goal attempts overall per Synergy Basketball. ▫️ “The Swede Freak” also possesses a ton of raw potential, and there is a ton more to his game that is waiting to be unlocked. This ideal situation for a prospect has NBA front offices more than likely dreaming about what Klintman could become given the right fit. ▫️ Expect Klintman’s athleticism, smooth shooting stroke, and versatility to standout at the NBA Draft combine in a couple of weeks. ▫️ Really picked up the intensity and aggressiveness on the offensive end and on the boards towards the end of the season. (Four 10+ rebound games in last 7 games; Only one 10 REB game prior). ▫️ Had some fascinating playmaking flashes in transition through the course of the season, was at pretty low volume but some of the reads he made had you go back and watch the film again and again and again #NBADraft | Wake Forest Men's Basketball

Syracuse’s William Kyle III is one of the best Big Man Prospects in this year’s NBA Draft. For the season Kyle averaged 8/7/1 along with 2.5 BPG and 1 SPG, while also shooting 66% from the field. Saint Louis’s Dion Brown is one of the best glue guy’s in this year’s NBA Draft. For the season Brown averaged 11/5/2 on 62/40/75 splits in only 24 MPG. In my opinion, Tarris Reed Jr. (UConn) would be the most seamless fit for the Knicks in the 2026 NBA Draft. The Knicks have the 24th & 31st pick and have more than enough access to target Reed Jr on the board. There’s even potential for them to move back from 24, acquire more draft capital and still get Reed Jr. Here’s why I love the fit. From a position of need standpoint, he’s a legitimate plug and play NBA Center who can log 10-15 minutes right away. There’s a possibility that the Knicks lose both Mitchell Robinson and Ariel Hukporti to free agency. Reed Jr. comes from a winning program in UConn played for winning obsessed coach in Dan Hurley played in the Big East, which aligns with the Knicks core mentality. In Matchups vs Lottery prospects in the tournament, there were legitimate times where he was the most productive player on the floor. Reed Jr. is a throwback big, bodies dudes in the paint, good touch around the rim. Nice bag that can only improve. UConn is the farthest thing from a iso offense, but Reed jr, bailed them out time and time again with post touches, a look the Knicks don’t really feature and can open up more diversity in their offense. From a scheme standpoint, the Knicks could actually play some high low concepts with Towns and Reed Jr. In addition, Reed Jr, projects to be a really good rebounder and will end possessions on defense and extend possessions on offense. The main concern for me is his versatility on defense, as it relates to being switchable on the perimeter. Day 1? Won’t be anywhere near what Mitch’s ability on film. Mitch is a guy that blocked Kevin Durant on the perimeter, closed out to the whole Boston Celtics team on one possession in game 6, and got a hand up on Wemby at the end of Game 2 in the NBA Finals. Simply put, if the Knicks lose Mitchell Robinson, they cannot replace him. However, I think Reed jr. will adapt to the needs of the NBA game in his own way, which will make him at least serviceable when playing out of drop coverage. There’s also the reality that Reed jr. isn’t a modern day stretch big that’s going to space the floor. While It’s not an accomplishment, I do think he has some more potential than Robinson/Hukporti to step out in space and knock one down eventually. All in all, these are the reasons Tarris Reed Jr. is a slam dunk pick for the Knicks in the 2026 nba draft - Position of need - Rotation player on a rookie deal - Winning Player - High Motor - Plug and Play From Day 1

Syracuse 6’9 Big William Kyle III has been one of the best defensive prospects in this years NBA Draft. Kyle has been one of the most impactful Bigs in the country this season averaging 11/8/1 while shooting 73% from the field. Kyle is also averaging 3.4 BPG and 1.3 SPG. Standing at 6’9 with a 7’3 wingspan and a 44 inch vertical his athleticism and length is one of the best in the class and it’s helped Kyle be an elite rim protector this season. Kyle has great timing when going for blocks, rarely fouling which is rare from an athletic rim protector, and he also has the instincts to be in the right place for a block. Kyle is also a versatile defender who’s switchable, and is great at reading passing lanes for steals. On the offensive end Kyle is one of the best and most efficient rim runners in the country starting the season with 25 dunks made and shooting 73% from the field. Kyle also isn’t just a dunker as well and is one of the most efficient non dunk finishing bigs shooting 68% on layups. Kyle is great at positioning himself as a lob threat in the half court, and he also has the ability to go up for put backs with his rebounding ability using his athleticism, or hitting a touch shot at the rim. Kyle is also a skilled passer for his height. Kyle is currently on pace to join Anthony Davis as the only High Major players since 2008 to have a BLK% of 10, a STL% of 2.5, and a TS% of 65. There’s not many bigs in this years class with Kyle’s mix of athleticism, rim protection, defensive versatility, efficiency at the rim, rebounding, motor and passing, and he’s been one of the best center prospects in this years NBA Draft.
