What's the plan if there is a major naval war with China and a number of US and allied ships are badly damaged? Do we have enough shipyards in the Pacific to not only repair them, but to also repair them quickly so that they can return to the fight or, if too badly damaged, steam back to the US? Are these shipyards adequately protected against missile attacks so that they're not put out of commission? What is the status of the Navy's ready reserve fleet to replace combat ship losses? Can they be activated quickly and how fast can they get to Japan or S. Korea to reinforce them? These are all basic questions that don't seem to get a lot of answers these days. And if we don't know the answers to them, we will lose the next naval war in the Pacific.
