The morning started off with trips to the pottyzone, zoomies with my roomies, and then just watching the humans try to figure out where stuff should go. 🐶It's Kenji's first full day with us, so he and I are just starting to get to know each other better. He's very curious and explores everything! He also isn't sure where to 💩 but he'll learn! 🐾 He's a little scared if I do play bows near him, so I'm showing him I'm gentle but also letting him know I'm fun and want to be his friend. Every now and again you have to make the game easy for the youngster and even let them win. Otherwise, they get discouraged and don't want to play. 🐾❤️It's Moon's final day with us. Tonight he goes back to the Service Dog program where he'll have many other adventures. Today he's working on staying in place while the human leaves him and goes and opens the door. This will help him learn to be calm and not try to go exploring when a door opens, and that when he's in place, he can move around or change positions, but can't leave the mat. He makes mistakes because he's learning, but with a few more repetitions, he'll understand. We didn't teach him a whole bunch of new skills while he was here, but what we've taught him is his marker sounds (clicks, yes and good) and his release word so he understands when he's done the thing he was supposed to, when he should keep doing it, and when he's free to go. This is the foundation that will make learning other skills easy. We've also helped him learn to settle calmly when asked and play when appropriate, and we've introduced him to lots of sites and sounds. He's a delightful pup. We're taking a short break from puppies to get stuff caught up around the house, get some appointments done and other human business. But I'm sure we'll have more puppy chaos in the near future. This man has decided to attack this girl’s dog. She gets the whole thing on POV . She’s sitting peacefully with her dog on a bench in public, and this guy walks up, throws dirt at her dog, and then threatens to kill him with his gestures. He won’t leave her alone. He keeps telling her to leave. She stands her ground.. He then proceeds to touch the dog and that’s when she gives him a nice little fist in the throat and shoves him away. In my opinion, she showed a lot of patience.

It happened!❤️ Last night, dear tiny little Hartley came out and ate for himself. Just 92g and so fragile, he had a little to eat and drink then (and I admit this broke me), he went back to bed and tried to tuck his sister Wintney back up. But she then got up too, and lapped a little puppy mousse. I am so happy! After 7 days of teetering on the brink of life, the outlook for these precious little babies suddenly looks a little sunnier.

Human male has had a behavior relapse and forgot to put his sandals away. Puppy Moon had a behavior relapse and stole sandal. I managed to acquire the sandal, but did need to outmaneuver the puppy to get it to a human that would put it out of reach of puppy teefs. 🐾There wasn't much sleep last night. The little man serenaded us with puppy classics like "I don't want to sleep in the puppy pen", "Where's my. momma and brothers and sisters" and of course "I pooped and stepped in it". So I made a few woofs and bounced around and it seemed to quiet him. 💤 But morning potty time sure came early and now Kenji has a few complaints about the scheduling of breakfast. This woman’s boyfriend left the home to go and get something. She leaves the door unlocked for him. While she’s waiting for him she makes some popcorn and gets ready to stream a tv show. She then hears tapping coming from the other side of the house. She runs down stairs and her dog runs out, barking viciously. She calls for the dog to come in and she goes upstairs and gets into bed. She then hears the tapping again and whoever it is starts pounding on the screen glass door. She freaks out can calls the cops. When they get there they downplay it by saying the area doesn’t get much crime. She makes them wait until her boyfriend gets back and they make sure the home is secure. Regardless of you live in a safe area, if you are home along with a baby, why would you leave the door unlocked?

Admin Post; Tonight I started shaping a "Place" on a mat with Kenji. As soon as I put the mat down he sniffed, I clicked and tossed a treat. When he came back, he walked right onto it, I clicked and tossed the treat. And then grabbed my phone because I wanted to capture this. He gave me multiple reps of coming to the mat and retrieving the treat within the first few minutes. He had it figured out so fast. I keep these sessions short. Especially with puppies. I lost his focus a bit because he found a stay treat, but we got it back and he offered the behavior of going to the mat. Multiple times. Tomorrow we'll do a couple reputations and I'll add the cue. It's always amazing to work with a puppy like this. The kind that figures things out so fast. Free shaping has the dog figure out what to do by the timing of the click. I only introduced the clicker yesterday for about 4 minutes. In one session he's doing what took 2-3 sessions with pups 6 weeks older. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
