Tension has escalated in the Sembabule Town Council election race after two people were shot at around 3am in the early hours of today. The victims were identified as Sekiwa Rogers, 20, and Male Meddie, 28, both residents of Sembabule Town Council. Four candidates are contesting for the Sembabule LCIII seat: Ndibarekera Monica of the NRM, George William Kangave of the NUP, Bishop Jackson Mulungi (Independent), and Ronald Nsubuga (Independent). Kangave, whose supporters were reportedly shot, said the incident occurred as they attempted to stop his rival candidate from allegedly distributing money. He claimed that vehicles later arrived at the scene and gunshots were fired. The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at Guma Clinic in Sembabule Town Council. #MonitorUpdates 📹: Gertrude Mutyaba
