Floods Update – Day 2 Day two since the devastating floods. Our thoughts remain with the families who lost loved ones and those displaced from their homes. Our team and representatives from Vocal Africa led by Mr. Hussein Khalid continue to support the bereaved families. We shall also be assisting other victims across the country with food, blankets, basins, clean water, and temporary tents for the most affected. Let us remain vigilant and continue supporting those affected during this difficult time.

Today, I visited flood stricken areas in the Mpumalanga. Over 1500 households are recorded as affected by the disaster. Schools in the affected areas of Nkomazi and Bushbuckridge have been suspended. The government will be focusing on the repair and rehabilitation of damaged houses and infrastructure as well as assisting families and households affected by the disaster. Our thoughts and prayers go to all the families who have lost their loved ones.
