After analyzing more than 12,000 real-world AI use cases, researcher Marc Zao-Sanders found that people are increasingly turning to AI for practical help and entertainment, while some self-improvement uses—like organizing life, finding purpose, and healthier living—have fallen out of the top 10. One finding stood out: More than a...

DAVID SACKS ON THE AI RACE: "The US is currently in an AI race, and our chief global competition is China, obviously. They're the only other country that has the talent, the resources, and the technology expertise to basically beat us in AI. And I think whoever wins this AI race, that's going to have tremendous ramifications for both our economy and our national security. Clearly, we want the US to be the winner, just like we were with the internet, and every other technology revolution before that […] We know that to win this AI race, we have to be the most innovative. You can't regulate your way just to beating your competitor. You have to out-innovate them. And we know that in the United States, the innovation comes from the private sector, not the government. So we have to do everything we can to help our companies win, to help them be innovative, and that means getting a lot of red tape out of the way… We have to have the most AI infrastructure in the US. It has to be the easiest place to build it. All of the new data centers that are going in, they require tremendous power, so getting ahead of the curve on energy, making sure we stand up all of this new infrastructure we're going to need to basically produce these AI factories… We want the US technology stack to dominate globally. We want to be the partner of choice for the whole world… I think everyone in Silicon Valley understands that the way that you win a technology race is to have the biggest ecosystem […] You just want everybody to be building on top of your technology stack, and that's what we want for the United States." How much of your life is being shaped by decisions you don’t realise you’re making? Seth Godin has spent decades trying to understand that question. Seth is one of the most influential thinkers in modern marketing, leadership and creativity. He’s a bestselling author who has written more than 20 books, and when I started my career in marketing, his ideas were everywhere. So sitting down with him felt like a full-circle moment. I wanted to find out why we stay in careers, businesses and relationships we know aren’t working, how to know when quitting is the right decision, and what happens as AI changes the world of work. We discussed things like: - How to know when it’s time to quit. - Why fear, status and belonging shape your choices. - Why AI could change the world more than we expect. - The human skills that could matter more in an AI world. - How to take back control when you feel stuck. One of Seth’s main talking points is that there are forces shaping our decisions that most of us rarely stop to notice. Fear, status, the years or money we’ve already invested, and the systems around us can all make us feel like we have fewer choices than we actually do. What I like about Seth is that he doesn’t tell you what decision to make. He helps you see what is influencing that decision so you can make it for yourself. With AI changing so quickly, I think the ability to adapt, question the path you’re on and know when to change direction is going to matter more than ever. Seth said something that I think sits at the heart of this entire conversation: “We still get to decide.” When so much around us is changing, remembering that we still have a say in what happens next really matters. Out now on all platforms. Let me know what you think of this one in the comments ❤️

Here we go again 🚀! Excited to announce that we're building A1Zap (YC W25) with Pennie Li and that we're in the Y Combinator W25 batch in San Francisco! What is A1Base? A1Base gives AI Agents a real world identity for work. We do that by rebuilding Twilio and Okta from the ground up, putting AI Agents first. This means developers can make AI-first agentic applications 10x easier with our API's. ⁉️ Why are we doing this? Because there's a huge torrent of new valuable companies possible with AI agents, but to get their AI Agents to users, they have to chain custom apps, chat interfaces, awkward Slack integrations, browser bots, and wrestle with Twilio’s legacy API (which is built for marketing). We solve this by providing developers with an easy to use API to interface your AI agent with humans/coworkers/users where they are in this case in Whatsapp, Slack, Teams, SMS and more) - with AI Agent features built in. These digital workers are poised to transform how we work and we're the critical infrastructure to help them interact naturally in human workflows. We're not just building another AI tool. We're creating the infrastructure that will enable AI agents to become a natural part of the workforce - handling everything from customer support to sales development to creative work. We're backed by Y Combinator and working with founding teams who share our vision. We believe that in the near future, AI Agents with human coworkers will enable us to pursue more creative and impactful work. Our mission is to help developers build AI Agents that people can partner with and rely on as trusted allies—always with a human-first mindset. If you're thinking about the Agentic future of your company reach out! If you're looking to build your first AI Agentic company - reach out too - we have some amazing open source templates to get you started on the journey. Excited to share more of what we're up to soon 🔜.
