After being ordered NOT to restore all prior service cuts, I asked SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch if Septa will have all the needed extra express subway trains for fans for the next ⁦Philadelphia Eagles⁩ home game on September 21st. “SEPTA is hoping for another sponsor.”

SEPTA is not an after school club… it’s a lifeline for people to get to work It’s just sad that elected officials have to make themselves “less than” or small when they take public transit. Additionally, CM Bass has not supported density around SEPTA stations in her District… which goes AGAINST supporting SEPTA. If elected officials say they support SEPTA… then they HAVE to support density around the stations and transit corridors to continue to increase ridership and utilization of the system. Today, my Administration approved SEPTA's plan to preserve service for 800,000 Pennsylvanians for the next two years — and on September 14th, full service will be restored. Senate Republicans have made clear they’re unwilling to act on a fair plan to add recurring revenue for mass transit — and SEPTA had to act. While this plan is not the long-term solution I proposed and House Democrats have passed, it won't jeopardize dollars that have already been earmarked for particular projects and will allow the system to operate for the next two years. Public schools, mental health providers, rape crisis centers, and so many critical services cannot continue to wait on funding while Senate Republicans refuse to pass a fair transit plan. It's time for the Legislature to get this budget done.
